What would you say are the main demographics and stereotypes between male and female otaku?

>> No.7097871

Would you say that people breathe air?

>> No.7097907

Male otaku are financially successful, and shun social contact and become hermits by choice. They are generally in peak physical condition as they have much free time. Years spent in heated debate has made them masters of logic, and an equal amount of time on various literary mediums have made them experts in various genre's of literature.

Female otaku are generally obese, unwashed attentionwhoring hambeasts, who only become "otaku" for one of two reasons; either a way to attract a mate with similar tastes, or has been shunned by her peers to the point where they were forced to reclusion. Nearly always they are unemployed, and leech of family members until they can find a suitable host to marry and sink their parasitic teeth into. Although such an occurrence is rare.

Also, good job bumping a completely unrelated thread to page 0 from 4. But shitposting is to be expected from femanons vying for attention. Tsk tsk.

My only qualm with this otherwise spot on assessment is the part about peak physical condition.

Most of the otaku I know are underweight. Other than that, preach on.

>who only become "otaku" for one of two reasons;

I became an otaku by choice. And now I'm wishing I hadn't in a way.
I don't think guys realize how difficult it is for female otaku's to make friends with other girls who aren't otaku's themselves. I went my entire high school career without having a single friend.

Girls are catty and bitchy to anyone who isn't exactly like them, they don't accept anyone or anything different. Unless you like talking about makeup, hand bags that price could get 5 different figures, MTV, that hot guy in your chem class, and squealing while saying "Oh my god" and "like, like, like" 50 times in one sentience, they're going to treat you like shit.

I don't get why you would think any girl would purposely get herself into something like that. I mean, I love everything about being an otaku, but any girl who does it intentionally if a fucking idiot. Maybe it's just because I come from a small town, full of rich stuck-up people, but have fun making no friends and being bullied for your entire life.

Thanks to my time at high school and few years at college, I never leave the fucking house.

It kind of disappoints me that you guys have such a hard-set vision of what a typical female otaku is.
I mean, I understand it, but yikes.

tl;dr - I'm mad.

Most /jp/ers are the fucking same and if you don't enjoy it, just go back watching MTV, simple as that.

You think that's bad? I'm black. I can't make some fucking fried chicken without 50 people yelling about how black I am. And then those same people complain that I'm "too white" when I want to watch anime or play touhou, or do anything that's not being stereotypical, aka loud, obnoxious, and outgoing. I can't even make new friends because people assume I'm the scary black guy when they see me alone and quiet.

tl;dr I know that feel.

I know the feel bro. Just being the same color as everyone else doesn't guarantee you'll fit in, and if you happen to be in the minority it's like a fucking double punch. I wouldn't fit in around people who look like me, let alone those who don't, you just can't win at the game of 'I'm just a regular guy'

The human race is shit and is only capable of producing shit and consuming shit. Everyone wants to be perceived as the beautiful and unique snowflake that they are in the eyes of the infinite, but people are so wrapped up in their own jazz that they can only process the world through stereotypes. Don't take it personally.

tl;dr I guess it can't be helped

I don't buy shit like that.
Dunno, maybe it was because I went to good schools from middle to high school(and to get to a good school here you just need to study/be smart, not have money), but most girls I met then were... you know, decent human beings? In middle school there were separate cliques that hanged out together depending on personalties more than interests, but in high school there wasn't even that. Hell, even the nerdiest girl in class, whose only hobby was solving goddamn math problems and whom everyone thought at least a bit weird(and now that I think about it, who was pretty goddamn moe) wasn't ostracized in any way whatsoever and didn't have problems with other girls despite having extremely little common topics with them.
The girls weren't particularly single minded, some of them were fashion conscious while others paid trends no mind, and it didn't stop them being friends with each other in the slightest.
It seems to me like a more of a problem with your personality - it's not like you can't get along with people who don't share your hobbies, unless, dunno, you think all of them are inferior to you right from the start, or obnoxiously flaunt your hobbies all the time.
By the way, girls I met in school are also a reason I don't like all that "bitches and whores" /jp/ mentality - outside of being decent people, of the girls who had some sort of relationship in high school(maybe half of them all) only one had more than one boyfriend. And even she had about a year between she broke up with one and started going out with another.

It's not that I take it personally, it's just that the jokes got tiring back in 2nd grade. That's why I liked /b/ back in the day, and /jp/ now. You guys don't judge based on anything but how much you love your hobbies. It's a lot like unconditional love, but with hate for everyone else in the world to balance it out.

I honestly don't think people are that bad. Misguided, imperfect, sure. I don't think people are inherently bad however, they've simply been taught the wrong things and let negative emotions impact them too much. I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with me on that, and perhaps I'm wrong and being unrealistic on how good people actually are.

I want to agree with you, but something stop me everytime.

Look at /b/ (Disclaimer: Don't look at /b/). I don't know if you remember this, but there was a point where people said the same kinds of things ironically in /b/. At that time, I thought all people were generally good.

Then I found out there were people out there who actually believe in the shit that could come out of /b/tards' mouths. It was like finding out that it wasn't just the 4 year old who thought he came from the stork, but his parents thought it too. And that the idea was so popular that it started being taught in high school.

What the fuck, world.

Well, perhaps I am a bit naive. I don't even know why I consider people to be good now considering I used to hate a lot of people. Sometimes people do cruel, hateful, destructive things for fun. All these sorts of talks about revenge, getting even, wanting to hurt other people and hating them really depresses me for some reason. Eventually I came to a conclusion that hatred was really quite pointless. I can't hate anyone for doing something foolish, although I certainly will disapprove of it and perhaps hope to teach about why such actions aren't good. I'm an idiot though, so it's certainly not likely.
