Ok, /jp/. Let's suppose you wanted to try your hand at making your very own shit VN large hardon collider wish-fulfillment fantasy. Would you make it with Ren'Py or ONScripter?

>> No.706266

I'd "make it" with ONScripter, if you know what I mean.

>> No.706270

Wouldn't Ren'Py be easiest?

I dunno, I looked at the text file in Anon's Nice Day and it seemed pretty simple.

This is why I'm asking you learned gentlemen.

Ren'Py has better effects and stuff.

Still, it doesn't matter which you choose if you suck ass at drawing, writing, or making music.

Music isn't really an issue, you can just "borrow" the Ever17 soundtrack and you'll be fine.

Very true. And if you're half-way decent with Photoshop, making Tsukihime-style backgrounds will be easy enough.

>> No.706341

So how would Ren'Py be easier, exactly? I haven't used either one, but what I saw (Anon of Columbia's VN) uses ONScripter and seemed pretty simple.

Please enlighten me.

They're both pretty easy.

ONScripter is old and busted though. Ren'py is newer and still updated, and has nicer effects.

Are you trying to tell me something?

Why build your own engine when there are already engines out there? Seems liek more trouble than it's worth.

My thread! Has anyone seen my thread lately?
