I never got /jp/'s fascination with cats. They sleep throughout the day, they don't care about their owner, they scratch furniture and hiss all the time. Dogs are far more superior to cats, you can develop a friendship with a dog. Felines don't care about you.

Have over 800USD in vet bills to prove it.
One of my cats, at age 12, stopped eating after her mother died. Got jaundice. Came home from work one morning to find her lying on the floor in her own waste staring at the spot where her mother had died. Had to spend two days at the hospital on IV fluids and then hand fed for two weeks.
However this same cat, has not reacted in the slightest to the passing of her brother.

One of my cats likes to sleep on the back of a sofa, and one night while I was out there, he fell off the back while he was asleep.

THUMP!!! He hit the floor. He just sat there, still half-asleep on his stomach looking around confused, wondering how he got there. He landed on his feet too, even though he was asleep, but his legs were relaxed and he basically just landed on his stomach. Good thing there was a soft carpet there. At first I was worried, but then my left ventricle watching him get confused. Ever since then, I keep a pillow on the floor behind the sofa for him to land on the next time he does it.
