I lose lives on stage one and still beat the game.

That just happened to me. Except in stage 2 in Fairy Wars. I have three routes done, but the others are fucking tough. Luna and Star keep kicking my ass.

I usually put the game on pause when I die and calm myself. I remember losing 2 lives to Cirno on my first EoSD Normal 1cc. Didn't lose a life on the next two levels, though. There's nothing a cup of green tea can't fix.

Calming myself makes me lose my focus. Either I'm overly focused and going at it FULL FORCE which causes me to be reckless and better or worse, or I'm calm where I do okay on average but screw up on tough parts.

If I die at a stupid moment or on a early stage I mostly just keep playing while thinking "Oh well this run is ruined but I still can try to get as far as possible so I can practice a bit"(Unless I die at stage 1.Then I restart)

Most of the times such runs are my 1cc runs

That happens every time I get to Satori. There is no way I could beat Orin with my concentration broken.

No, that was the last spellcard. I didn't pay enough attention to the bullets and when I was hit and then tried to literally 'kick her butt' by moving my character to her sprite. I was goofing around until I realized I beat five stages and had several lives still in stock. Beginning a game with a goal to win is always doomed to failure for me.
