Its slow and kind of tedious (10 pages of stuff on inane subjects like games/food/etc), but it gives characters and situations more depth. The anime was done alot better than the umineko anime, so the difference wont be as staggering. Install the editorashi patch to fix the glaring grammar errors in ep 1-4, then do the patches for the sounds/music (be prepared for repetition, the music for the question arcs is nothing compared to the scores in umineko), then the art patches if you dislike ham-hands.

Honestly the VN is miles ahead of the anime despite it being long. It's kinda hard to do 6 chapters of Higurashi in 1 season of anime and it really shows. Oh and the PS2 sprites go a long way
