I was too busy getting fucked up in school to have your kind of baggage. Miku is cute and I followed her since her release. Most of the music sucks but some producers are good enough to make up for all of the crap. The characters are essentially a blank slate besides the illustrations and voices and it's interesting to see what people do with them.
I think you're projecting your insecurities just as much as I'm projecting my ideal for the perfect idol.

Are people really like how OP describes in American highschools? I mean i would have been that typical fat, shy loser who gets picked on all the time in HS movies. Yet when I was in HS i was never bullied/picked on and i ended up somehow being friends with a couple star jocks, some of the "popular kids" and drama students.

I don't like miku.

I don't like Miku. I never have, I sometimes feel I'm the only person in the world who finds her ugly (fucking terrible hair) and also fucking hates the way she sounds.

I understand the idea of people taking something that's like a blank slate and doing something cool with it, but really I haven't seen much that makes me believe that people are ACTUALLY doing cool things with Miku besides making some cool wallpapers or some shitty songs on FL studio. Miku just doesn't sound that good, so it'd take some real effort to make a song that could fit her clunky tone in and still sound good. I get more of the impression that a lot of Miku songs were half assed thrown together by people who don't actually care about writing that good of music but rather just want to make something to go along with a cutesy/shitty Flash music video they made.

Any argument that depends on following the assumption "if she was real" is stupid. The bottom line is that she's not real, and imagining how it would be like if she was real serves absolutely no purpose. You could say to a lolicon, "how come you like loli? If they were real, you would be going to jail for doing the things you want to do to them", or to a guy whose waifu is a youkai, "if she was real, she would just eat you". Yet, these things do not destroy the fantasy at all. In the end, the fantasy is what matters. We have absolutely no need to see 2D characters in the context of the 3D world.

well as OP described american schools. We all have our own trendy groups some divided by our mac laptops. Others by their looks. I fortunately happened to get the best of both worlds in terms of the mac and the looks so I never had trouble fitting into these schools on the outside, but people don't judge you but what you look like or the fashion you have it's the interest we have and when people found out I was different than them I was excluded from these groups of popular kids and fashionable kids. Simply because I was the kid who could hack and tear broken things apart and make new things and the fact that I wanted to achieve without partying so kids left me behind and lonely because of hobbies and interest not what i as n the out side so be aware of american schools

I love Miku for her looks and her voice. She still sounds best to me. Most Miku remasters sound better than the original carbon based version or alternate vocaloid originals.

Miku also strikes me deep for another reason. Miku brings together the two things I love most in this world, anime and music. Shes like everything Otakuish manifested in to one warm ball of joy.

Shes not some 3D pig sinking to a cute anime character, She is the anime character. This makes her more authentic than any human could ever be. There is no chance possibility that the veil can be lifted like what happens with anime characters, when you see or realize thats not really the anime character singing, with Miku there is no veil.

In short Miku is the culmination of everything I love in this world.
