Vista works better for me than XP.

I get better performance with Vista while doing music production.

VISTA caches shit for you so you can access it faster!
VISTA has improved multithreading!
VISTA is more stable than XP!
And VISTA has fancy icons!
Plus,you'll all need VISTA in the future. Like you needed XP after 98 and 98 after 95.
So saying "Lol I'll stay with XP because VISTA sucks" is like saying "I'll stay with the PS2 because PS3 sucks (which it does)".

I'm forced to use Vista at work, and really the only problems I have are where it doesn't work the way XP did. I miss the Directory Up button, but the goto folder function in the address bar is more than a suitable replacement. The visuals are ugly as sin, but I just switch back to Windows Classic theme. The confirmation dialog evry thime you do so much as breathe on it is annoying, but that can be disabled....

Vista doesn't have any major issues that I've found, other than tha UGLY color scheme/backgtound they have by default

I really fucking love Vista. Not only does it look awesome, it like never crashes in the ways XP did. It also plays Crysis on full spec a lot better than XP does, and utilizes the full potential of my hardware. It also reminds me of things like a program accessing the computer, which has actually saved me from spyware and shit a few times.
Vista is pretty much 100 times more awesome. there's nothing it can't do that XP could for me.

On that note, Vistaids doesn't support IPX at all ootb. So if I wanted to play RA2 over the lan, I can't without going to a lot of effort I shouldn't have to go to. Fortunately, I don't have vistaids.

Nope. I actually literally dragged my Program Files from XP into Vista, and 98 percent of the programs work just fine. The only ones that had a problem were stupid little shareware things.

Not the same person, but I had vista pre-installed when I got my laptop, and it's annoying. Hardly anything works on it the way I want, not even it's default features. And random shit just stops working or refuses to work (more noticeably than my experience with XP). In a few more years, it might suck less, but I don't have the patience for that.

I have a registry entry that does it, only for Japanese though. Pretty sure you can code em in. There's also a 3rd-party patch for applocale that gets rid of that annoying "Applocale is a temporary solution" message.

I don't see what I did wrong. I've taken good care of it. First thing I got was an anti-virus and firefox. I've only downloaded some music and doujins. I never leave it on overnight or handle it roughly in any way. Just yesterday the sound sound adjuster froze on me and went mute.
