Thing is, it WAS magic. What is magic? It was hammered in the story several times, it's a "sleight of hand" in the eyes of a child. True magic makes people happy. There is no point in shatering an illusion if the illusion only serves the purpose of making people happy. Ange understands this in Ep8; just like there is no real use in telling Maria Beatrice's magic with the candy was a trick- because it only makes her happy, there is no real use in uncovering the truth of Rokkenjima- for it was hidden with the purpose of allowing Ange happiness.

The Rokkenjima tales are true Endless Magic, worthy of a true Golden Witch.

They were jumping at each other's throats over the money, they were all in desperate need of money. Yasu motivates them to find a huge sum of gold that's more than enough for everyone, I wouldn't say that's the worst thing to do.
Yes, keeping the guns in the same place was fucking stupid. Maybe it's Kinzo's genes acting up, maybe she added more risk that way. Or maybe she thought the adults wouldn't use Kinzo's guns when they actually find the solution to all of their problems and keeping the guns outside, in Kinzo's room or wherever, is more risky? Really hard to judge with her complete lack of reaction to anything and the fact the episode is not 100% truth at all.

How the bomb works, a primer for dumb people:

1. The bomb goes off at midnight. When the adults reached the room it was shortly before midnight. The bomb was not set.
2. The bomb can be set at any time and it will go off at midnight. Yasu could have visited the room at any time--she had a key--and set the bomb. This does not mean the bomb was automatically set on the second day.
3. The bomb was a last resort. If no conclusion could be reached, she would die. This says nothing about everyone else dying, especially when there are two ways for them to escape the blast.

My problem with Yasu is how her "harmless game" was essentially doomed to fail. The cousins are mostly crybabies, and weren't going to just spring to action solving the epitaph when they think their family members are actually dying, not to mention it's a pretty cruel way to break-up with someone if the end result is supposed to be bloodless. Even if she got the best result of Battler figuring it out, that's pretty awkward- "Oh, yeah, I was just dicking with you guys, everyone's fine. Also, George, you were in love with a lie sorrylol, marriage is off, not to mention we're blood related, BUT DON'T WORRY AT LEAST YOU'RE RICH". Having the guns available at all was just a bad idea when you have the Ushiromiyas involved, period. The baby swap shenanigans lost all importance, when it was probably meant to be something important. Ange not coming was probably meant to be something arranged by Kyrie and Yasu (Ange was in the Marriage Sorciere too, Yasu liked her), she was young and would get too scared- and from then Kyrie started planning on how to take advantage of things, also why Rudolf was afraid he'd get killed. what's all this about yasu's bad planning?
she wanted a random roulette draw and got one, just not the one you were hoping for. She can't decide herself so fate decided for her.

it very could have also ended with battler solving finding the VIP room, them confessing their love there and having hot sex, battler takes the head of the line sometime AFTER the storm, and everyone lives happily ever after with no one dying and all financial problems solved.

Well, hey, in EP8, as they're escaping, Battler says she's sinless.

The whole idea of a roulette is fucking stupid to begin with.

Higurashi ended on a ridiculous note, I will be first to make that claim. Beat your fate, nothing is set in stone, etc. In Umineko, we just get this depressing shit of fate being imperishable, and the worst part is, the person making this claim is pretty much right. Nearly everyone dies on that island in brutal ways, Ange is left alone in the real world, when you get down to it, it's fucking depressing.

It's pretty obvious Will is sympathetic, but he never says anything like that. As far as Clair, the embodiment of the fictional mysteries, goes, basically the only thing he says is that Lion has to decide for him/herself whether to sympathize or not.

>And even Bern think she is pitiful.
Bern has nothing to say about the question of what she had planned or the nature of the roulette. The reason Bern mocks Yasu is because her intention of saving people by hiding the truth failed.

i never said the roulette wasn't STUPID.
in fact yasu was pretty stupid for putting it up to chance cause she couldn't MAKE a decision. women are like that...she's also pretty damaged mentally, plus she's had a good run with the roulette (found the gold right?).

i was just saying that the roulette was what she WANTED at that moment. she probably didn't WANT everyone to die, but is guilty since she put that element in place as a possible outcome (assuming it was her who killed everyone/set the bomb).
