I'll try to do this while intoxicated, because so far I've failed at every extra like 200 times.

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. Every time I get really far into an extra I get so tense that I start getting lightheaded and shaky then end up losing.

For me, Fujiwara no Mokou was the easiest extra boss ( And thats saying A LOT ) and recently is the only one that I can beat without losing two lives or so.

In her final stage as Reimu she says 'I really don't want to fight you, but if I must...I will resist you with all my strength.' And then Reimu says something to the effect of 'Yeah, yeah, whatever. You're going down.' and proceeds to heartlessly demolish her defenses by my own hands. And then you've won the game, so it does that depressing game over music. For the first time since I defeated Yuyuko I felt unquestionably like I was the villain in this game, and I did not like it.

Rin isn't difficult if you time well her attacks and bomb the hell out of her spellcards.

The big problem is Reiuji, the final boss. She pwned my ass so much that even the extra boss ( Koishi ) seemed easy. SPECIALLY THAT LAST SPELLCARD.

They sealed her up for what they thought were legitimate reasons. Something like "equal rights" is unheard of for the Japanese...considering she was providing equality for perceived monsters.

Keep in mind the main characters beat the shit out of a lot of people for really stupid reasons. The only one that's a little justified is Yuyuko, as she was about to resurrect an evil tree by mistake. Everything else was just Marisa and Reimu being bored and pissed off, respectively.

Yeah, for what were legitimate reasons back when they sealed her up...but Reimu is in a near-present timeline (or so I thought) and while not exactly exposed to the outside world much at all, I'd think that she would be vastly more open-minded if not the fact that she was, well, Reimu, and thus toeing the line between neutral evil and true neutral.

I can interpret the dialogue in IN to mean that Mystia just got eaten at the end of stage 2 with Yuyuko/Youmu but that doesn't mean it's canon.

There's a clear limit between common sense and trash-talk in dialogue, I think it's pretty clear which one is which, for someone not to notice would just be either autism or not wanting to accept canonity. The extension of the trash-talk is what made most Touhou memes, other than references.

Ignore the first sentence and try to read the second one instead this time around, try to overlook that mistake at the beginning though.

Nothing in Touhou can be taken as canon from sheer assumption, that's what MEMES are for. A clearer view of things can be seen in the manual so that's a trustable source. There's a limit between sarcastic remarks and serious talk during in-game dialogue, most of which is talked through irony AND sarcastic remarks, yet one with enough coherence should know which one implies jokes and which one contributes to the story.

You said nothing can be taken seriously from dialogue, I said that only autists and people who don't want to accept something as canon could possibly not understand which part of the dialogue is clear canon and which one is playful jokes, even the former can be said in irony yet it's clear enough to know what's real and what's not. Something that includes aspects to the story part of the game can still be taken as canon-contributing despite the dialogue seemingly being as joking, eg: sarcastic remarks about X aspect of the SDM said by Remi.
