I'd say the customization is downright godly. I think some things are lacking from the demo, because I can't find a ponytail hairstyle, but the interface is so fucking comfortable to use, and there are so many details to adjust. Hair color can be picked from a color palette, allowing you to pick any kind of color, breast size goes all the way down to completely flat and even nipple size can be adjusted. The body shape editing seems pretty versatile, attached pic is the result of trying to fulfill my fetish for flat-chested lolis with child-bearing hips. You can give her an unsightly big ass too, but I restrained myself.

in tdcg the menus can be very irritating to deal with and not having a slider for hair color is a pain.

if a tool was somehow created to convert TDCG mods/models to this game then it seems like it would be pretty godlike, but that's dreaming too much.

Not in the near future since you're still pretty limited in your customization options.
It will take time before the same quantity of mods for 3dcg (which are its main strength) is made for this game.

Now I can't wait for the 28th.

in the first place, if you're the type who prefers a game, TDCG probably wasn't for you. tdcg was more of a character creation and posing tool than a game, so it required an imagination and the time/will to create what you want.

but the amount of creative freedom and currently available mods for tdcg is a difficult hurdle. it really doesn't even have animation/dancing over TDCG because of MMD. but tdcg does have its weaknesses in its interface and probably graphics(although there are some mods out there with fairly high graphical quality).

so pretty much, the graphics, interface, and moddability are just going to have to be that good, but it's not looking bad so far.

My main problem with 3dcg was that the mods was pretty much the entire game.
And frankly, I sort of almost got more enjoyment from opening the models in various 3d editing software than from loading them up in the actual thing.

Why couldn't people had continued to mod Schoolmate?
The mods they made were pretty wonderful.
But really, if I were to say so myself, the average 3DCG model is pretty bland if you ask me. And I know there are body mods, but it still felt like playing dress up games with a sub-par doll.
Also, no offence to the fans of 3DCG, it is still a rather special game due to all the mods.

So, what do you guys think about the Google Translator that will be able to translate text in images?

Obviously it would help with simple tranlstions like the OP's, but one day it could lead to on-the-fly translations of all those VNs we can't play.

these are exactly my thoughts on the issue.

as to the question of the modders, depending on the moddability of the game it may just be a matter of time. if it's difficult to mod then don't expect much, but although the people who already have huge TDCG collections will be reluctant to switch, once the game develops enough features and customizability it will eventually happen if it's easy enough to mod.

The 1x/2x/4x antialiasing looks like shit. The last option (which overrides AA) is the one that makes it look really good. Also shadow resolution >2048, please. 512 is terrible. The option just above the shadow resolution selector is self-shadowing. I'm torn whether it's a good idea or not. For small breast sizes, self-shadowing doesn't look too good IMO.
