Sup /jp/. I was wondering how long most of you who know Japanese well enough to feel confident reading VNs and such have been studying it. I just got done with my first semester of it in college (we're just now starting Genki II) and while I know I'm far from being literate, things are finally starting to come together.

So yeah. How long you guys been studying dem moonrunes?

Been studying for about 4 years, maybe 5. All self taught though since my highschool and my current college don't offer Japanese courses. I've been to Japan and can converse fairly comfortably and can read some manga just fine. Honestly, my kanji could use some work. I learned about 75% of my kanji back when I was still taking Chinese classes in highschool.
