Good afternoon anons,
I have to admit that this morning was one of the hardest days to wake up and attempt to digest what was announced yesterday.

I love Ai-chan so much and believe that she represented all of the best things about Morning Musume and Hello Project together.

Although we still have a large portion of the year left with her I find it difficult to try and deal with her moving on.

Not only that but it is clear that Gaki-san will also be leaving and a whole new face of Musume will take shape a lot quicker than we expected.

So to each day here on out we must cling to our Leader and make happy memories. Thankfully we have something to celebrate now as well, with 9th Generation here and with Aika-chan's birthday right around the corner..so let's have an amazing Aika Musume thread.

Well stated there bud. I mean like someone said earlier we all expected to be coming sometime. But I'll just say that I would of sworn that Gaki would of been announced first and we'd be given at least a 6 month buffer zone from that.

But Tsunku's comments on it really key it up pretty well. We are talking about 10 fricking years in Musume, has broken all the long term leader records in Musume's history and has had countless memories. It is a idol group after all and she has to move on with her life.

But I still wished she and Tsunku realized that she is too special to let go through this transition, we need her and at least will have her for a little bit of the transformation.

It feels like a Nacchi kind of moment to be honest, I and I think many others would have no problem if she went on until the 50th Morning Musume single was released but she also has her own life she has been itching to start living out things she hasn't been able to since being a full time idol..

I think that Suzuki Kanon (girl on the left), one of our new 9th Gen members has signs of Kago in her, without being a complete nuisance and liability.
Check out the new Musume album, Fantasy too, there are some classic sounding tracks on there.

Besides that, S/mileage isn't too far off in my opinion, with fun and quirky energy music. And the Kanon from that group is kind of quirky like that, they all have pretty unique personalities.

It is a process that must take place and there will be a sense of urgency instilled within the group to work on getting 9th Gen caught up.

Its is correct that you do need a degree or X numbers of years in related field of job experience.

Take for example you want to teach English?
Do you have any experience teaching English?
If you don't, It is required in order for a company to sponsor your visa and offer you a job, that you accumulated at least 3 to 5 yrs worth of experience in the field of Teaching English.

The proof you will need would more then likely be a letter of employment at the place you taught, along with your first and last pay check stub. See where I am getting at? You need as much solid evidence as you can possibly provide. Phone number, address, etc. More then likely they wont check, but just in case they do.

Japanese Immigration just wants to make sure that you are Educated and/or Trained to perform in the glorious Japanese society.

Teaching English in Japan to me was a great experience it taught me not only the language, but how to live everyday life. Speaking Japanese also opens up many other doors you thought would never be available to you.

Its also good that you at least travel to Japan for 1 or 2 months, stay at a gaijin guest house and get two 1 month JR passes as these will save you a shit ton of Yen to spend on food etc. $1500 USD covered 2 months worth and both 1 month passes. I had roughly about $3200-ish dollars to my name. Of course this was in 2007. More then likely prices are still around that mark. good luck in your endeavor.

Nope, if the option were available I'd take it...but that isn't a goal of mine because I don't have the right experience, like you're talking about, to do that.

I already speak the language well enough...I have very little experience with business/professional level Japanese, but I had no problems at all getting around and talking with people I met while I was there last year. I also attended a bus tour and had no problems following directions from tour guides, etc.

I'm already planning that this year. Since Aichan's graduation was announced, I've decided to spend a month and a half or so there before the grad concert. Won't be staying at a guest house, just kind of couch surfing with Japanese friends...but other than that, I'll be doing basically exactly what you described.
Minus flight cost, I should be able to save up about $5000 to last me for the trip. Depending on how big my tax return this year is, it could be a bit more than that actually...

But about the job situation, I've dropped the plan to get a job in Japan right away. I happen to live in an area where there are a decent number of Japanese businesses, so I figure I'll find a job with a Japanese company near me and work toward the eventual goal of working in Japan. Now that Aichan's graduating, there's honestly not any huge rush for me to get over there anyway.

First of all, I know who you are and I'm not the least bit surprised that you'd call me out on this~

And, it's personal reasons more than anything. I like the new members, a lot actually, (the rest of the group too, of course, but I've taken a surprisingly quick liking to the new members) and if I were in Japan or could afford to see the group in person fairly frequently I'd definitely continue.
But I'm entering into a transitional stage here where I'm gonna have to find a new job, move out of my parents' place, get myself established...during that time (probably a year or two, at least) I know I won't have time or money for trips to see Momusu wherever they happen to be. Doesn't mean I won't follow the group, but my life just can't revolve around them anymore. I'm the type who does things all the way or not at all, and now it's time to focus on making a living.
Not exactly happy about having to quit my support activities, but the timing of Aichan's grad just made it all the more obvious that it's time to shift priorities. Will likely still try to keep up with the blogs and maybe grab the occasional merch here or there, but my days of traveling the world are coming to an end.

Maybe someday, when I've settled down, I'll get back into all that, but for now I'm gonna step back...or, rather, after the grad, I'll step back. Up until then, it'll be full fucking force. I want to make the most of these final few months, obviously...

If anything, the last year or so has shown me the disconnect between how much merch you have and how much you love the members. If I were about getting all the merch I'd just cut back on purchases and that would be that...but seeing the members in Los Angeles and Paris and Tokyo and Yamanashi, and having the chance to interact with them, has caused me to care almost entirely about making a personal difference for them, face to face. Every one of these trips costs a few thousand dollars, at least, and there's no way I can keep that up during these next couple years...
