Shihori has only underwhelmed me as a vocalist. DJ Command's usual ABeatC-ish production and 8bit interludes is present and I wouldn't have it any other way. Altogether, not perfect but an acceptable opener.

The fuck? Who got Magic Hammer in my Sugano? I'm not usually a fan of guitar-based leads, but this one works. Vocals are good (I thought Sugano was a guy though, fucked if I mind though), production's great, and it's all around just a fantastic song. SHOUT! YOUR SELF!

Production is SOLID as hell. But for whatever reason, using a vocaloid singer seems to bring Samfree back. I know that's what he's known for, but I really think he's called to work with real vocalists.
That quip aside, most DEFINITELY a step up, production-wise, from Endless, Sleepless Night, and I fuckin' loved that song. Minus a point for remixing Remilia's theme for the fuckteen-zillionth time.

Friskies/Ash (Vignette House)
HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGH at the intro. Synths remind me of pre SEB 100 entries, which is always awesome. Vocals are cute, if a bit inaccurate sometimes. Guitar work is good as it seems to be the unspoken main ingredient for this volume, but it doesn't really add much that stays with the song as a whole. The sound as a whole does remind me of a couple of timid catgirls on a stage singing to a tape... the song on the tape isn't bad, and the girls sound cute as all fuck, but somehow it lacks polish. Cute, well produced, and little more.

Mmm, sentimental DJ Command. Axel K is amazing, DJ Command is amazing, the combo is... amazing, but somehow dull in its awesome. It's sort of like I expected this pairing to be awesome, and it only met those standards. Perhaps my standards for the two are just too high? Whatever, it's still an A+ tune, one I'd love to see on Super Eurobeat itself.

Come Back to Me/3L (NJK Records & Elementas)
Synths are a bit too sleepy for my taste. Production's solid if a bit lacking in "oomph". 3L sounds at least a little bit emotional, so it's easier to take the song seriously. All in all, disappointing. Not necessarily BAD, just... disappointing, really. I'm sure others will disagree with me... this one just isn't my style.

Savior of the Sky/T. Stebbins (Sugano/Kizuna)
So they saved Whiny for last, eh? SURPRISE, he's actually kind of good on this one. Yes, he still strains for the highs (and an egregious lack of the second verse leaves no question that somebody fucked up in the production process). Everything else is fuckawesome. I'd love to hear the version with the second verse, and perhaps sung by a more formidable vocalist.

A welcome entry alongside the classic first one, though I really do decry the lack of italo on this one. Even if 3L or T. Stebbins has to sing it, I'd accept it on 3. And this album only makes me want 3 all the more!

If they really want to get the files out (and you say they don't; that is relevant), all you'd need to do is scan them, send them to someone else through any method (DCC, mediafire, carrier pigeon...) who then uploads them to Share, PD, torrent sites, mediafire, etc. If the file isn't tagged there is no way to prove it came from LWB, unless their ISPs are already being forced to monitor their traffic or something.

If the DMCA is a problem they can just send them to India, Russia, Brazil or somewhere. I'm quite sure doujin are pretty much illegal anyway (they use copyrighted characters, etc) so they can't use the copyright laws for themselves without going through many problems.

Judging from VN translations projects, some of them fucking hate people for translating it, even if the translators don't provide the actual game itself and tell people to go buy it (which is impossible with doujinshi), while others are just happy to see that their work is appreciated enough outside their country, and that people like it enough to bother going through the trouble of translating it.

I wish there were more of the latter. I know that if I made a work to be published within my own country and I saw people from other countries trying to get their hands on it and begging people to translate it to their language, I'd think it was awesome, even if I didn't get any money for it. You'd think that a subculture where the only incentive to produce things are if you sincerely enjoy it (since there aren't that much money to be made on doujin works), that people would be more happy about their works being appreciate than a few extra yen bills from people who never had the chance to buy it in the first place.

I liked the album (and I like vocals on some tracks) but particularly with Shibayan's stuff I personally feel that having the tracks as instrumentals would make it so much better. His House production is amazing and putting vocals on it detracts from how good his production is, for me that is.

I really enjoyed both the vocal and non-vocal tracks on the album, but I guess in the end it comes down to preferences. And while I do think that track 8 could have been done without vocals that was the only track I felt that way about. Either way, it's an album I'd gladly recommend.

Burning Chrome Records - Underground Makina Connectionz Vol. 6 is the only full length Makina album I can think of released in C79. There are a few Makina tracks on some of the other albums (I think there was one on Hardcore LiberaLism ZweI and the mob squad releases) but nothing other than UMC Vol. 6 was amazing.

Oh god this album is so good. Only songs I dislike are Morning Thinker and Goodbye Thinker. Death to the King and Shining Highway are definitely my favorite tracks. I was hoping for a remix of "9" or a remix with it in it, but that didn't happen. Still fucking deliriously happy none-the-less.
