Buddhists were like /jp/, only with temples instead of basements. Myouren in particular was fucking awesome. He was this lazy shut-in monk who wouldn't leave his mountain temple even if the Emperor himself personally ordered it, we know this because Emperor did order him (and promptly got ignored.) Myouren didn't even bother go out to get food, he had a flying magical bowl that he sent out to gather alms. It would fly near you, whirling around like a stone frisbee until you put some food in it, and Myouren almost starved when one time some dolt locked it in a silo by accident. Hungry and quite likely very pissed off, he had to leave his temple and worked his Buddhist magic to leave the silo flying, grains and all. When the owner of the silo asked it back, Myouren did the right thing and flipped him off to retreat to his temple and presumably fap to scrolls depicting 2D women.

Being a worshipper of Bishamonten (or was is Acala? Probably Bishamonten.), he also had protective spirits in form of little boys in his service, the most famous ones being the begging bowl itself and one with swords dangling out of his neck. Make those into little girls instead and you have the average /jp/ user's dream. The begging bowl girl would go door-to-door cutely asking for alms for the temple and doing odd jobs so that her lazy ass master wouldn't starve, that'd be adorable.
