Legit, someone already started on it.They said the first story is Bernkastel's letter, after that is some text from Ronove, then a poem from Frederica Bernkastel. When you finish it, it unlocks the other stories, 15 in total.
Posting since I saw a lot of people that were interested in it.

Amusing. This entire discussion happens every time a story with an unclear end happens. There are three camps.

People are ok with the ending, people who wanted the series to end in a different way and who flip out over it, and people who totally love the ending and relentlessly mock the people who got pissed at the story.

There's always some n00b arguing that the canon really was ripped of from source X (not understanding that stories often have similarities - everything has been done, originality doesn't exist), that the author's suddenly a hack, someone arguing that all their time was wasted, and so on.

I only read the SN, but yes.
Never watched the anime adaption - So I can't really comment on that.
But of course I was thinking and trying to figure out what was going on. How it ultimately ended is another story, but trying to get behind the workings of this other world on your own is 99% of the fun.

I think I wouldn't have minded the revelation that the series was Old Battler writing things down to remember what happened if they at least hinted at it. For instance, maybe some memory lapses, or discussions about writing.

Something voted as 'among the top' of pretty crappy stuff isn't necessarily good, just less crappy than the others.

I played it, and it wasn't really anywhere near as good as you claim it is. Yes, it impressed Nasu, but have you seen Nasu's writing? it's TERRIBLE.

Nasu makes 07 look like a literature nobel price winner, even during UWAAAAAAAAAAA UGOOOOOOOOO scenes.
Of course he's impressed by the forest writer. Forest itself is still pretty bland, and I prefer Umineko any day a week.

The ending is truly bittersweet.

We all expected a happy ending where the murders were prevented, and everyone goes on living happily ever after, right? Sadly it is not meant to be.

Ryukishi07 may have had an alternative ending like Higurashi, where all the relatives banded together to find and stop the culprit in one final grand episode. But when BT passed on, he realized something.

When people die, they stay dead. That is the truth.

There is no alternative. Otherwise, it truly is just fantasy.

However, he could not simply crush the series that his dear friend BT supported for all those years, so he wrote Episode 8 as it is now.

Battler survives. He continues to write as Hachijou to piece his memories back together. He continues to write to ultimately find the truth, that horrible truth in October 1986 on Rokkenjima. The truth that almost all of his relatives are dead, and will stay dead.

Relatively, Ryukishi07 lives on to write When They Cry, even when his best friend is dead. His best friend will not come back, but lives on in his memories and in the writing of When They Cry. If he does not write, BT will never forgive him.

It may be such a bitter ending to most people.

I'm not really angry, just disappointed. I mean I think the ending is fine, definitely could've been worse with how Japan tends to end things. It just kinda sucks that the only "real" mystery was the epitaph.

Part of the fun of Umineko was trying to figure out the murders, and for R07 to pretty much say the closed rooms and other mysteries were never meant to be solved is disappointing. And for him to say the whole mystery vs fantasy never really existed kinda sucks.

I like what I've heard of the ending, I just don't like what was sacrificed to get it.

I don't understand why everyone is so sure the future presented in this episode is "real", as opposed to a fragment created to give Meta-Ange some closure. The futures in EP4 and EP6 weren't real either.
