Kordox, last time I asked how to dress pure neemo xs dolls and how it was really hard to get things such as coats on. You, or others in the thread, told me I could take the hands off. So I tried to do this but it comes out a little bit, about two millimeters, but I'm scared to pull it further, scared of breaking it. Can I really, positively, without bullshitting me, pull it out further?

I was also suggested to wear gloves. What kind of gloves? Disposable latex ones? I really don't want to ruin my Chisa no matter what.

The hands are made so you can pull them off and switch. Sometimes they can be very tight, but they shouldn't break.
About gloves, well... I've never used gloves and haven't stained or otherwise damaged my dolls. As long as your hands are clean I don't see how anything could happen.

Also, remove the arms and insert them into the jacket sleeves. Then reattach the arms with the jacket around the body. $250 may get you a vinyl head off yahoo. A body without a head will also run about $250. Heads without faceups are cheaper. but you have to really work to bring them to life or they'll look like toy whores. Really when it comes to piecing one together, you're better off buying them as they're released.

She's an old limited edition, alternative version of the Tamaki (To Heart 2) dollfie from Volks. It's pretty much impossible to get her. I've never seen her in an auction. Even the standard Tamaki is very rare, and one of the most expensive Dollfie Dream dolls there is. The few auctions I've seen on Yahoo Japan had bids at over 200k yen (almost $2500). It's insane, but she is after all very popular, and it's easy to see why.

With the exception of Aoi and Yukino, all Dollfie Dream dolls are limited. As for Alternate versions, Volks doesn't do that, maybe Azone but not Volks. What has been reposted ad nauseum is the standard Tamaki doll head with a custom wig trimmed and zip-tied into a pony tail then placed on a 60 cm Obitsu body.

What depresses me is that you're supposed to make the doll your own. Customize it. Bring out the character. That's what the owner of that Tamaki did with their customizations and creative photography. New fans want *that* doll. Which I don't get. What would separate them from being special if they're not unique?

yes I mean yukino and aoi, the only heads that arent a sort of limited release. In my opinion there arent really that many nice faces. Tama is pretty good, and I think saber/rin/louise all look similar and are good. There are only a few out of the other character dolls that have a cute face.

Been thinking about investing in a Dollfie for the past 6 months now, and I've been wondering... How much do these things usually go brand new? Also is there some kind of general guide on parts and stuff? Seems like there's so much customization involved.

Brand new 300 to 600 I think, but you can only get brand new DD with the aoi or yukino head or through the volks lotteries for special characters. Ive never seen new DD anywhere else. Maybe unopened, but not new. Used DD range from anywhere between 600 and up into over 1000 for rarer types like tama and saber.

And if you didnt know, DD is dollfie dream - they have vinyl bodies and anime faces. 1/3. MDD mini dollfie dream are similar but are 1/4. SD is super dollfie with realistic faces and resin bodies. 1/3 or 1/4 usually. MSD are the MDD counterparts for resin. Dollfie are 1/6 only dolls. I think DDS is a new volks body but I dont know the measurements. It stands for DD sister I think.

For most the volks items, including clothes sets, limited edition DD, MDD, and everything in between, are not normally for sale. The only way they can be bought is through their lottery system which you submit an entry for and if you get selected, can purchase your item. Some people win the lottery and simply resell the stuff for mass profits.

Aoi and Yukino and the clothes and stuff on the volks site can be bought at any time and arent in the lottery. Most of the good stuff is lottery items though.

Unfortunately yes. Mamachapps use standard 21/23/25/27cm Obitsu bodies which are just injection molded plastics.

If you're not fond of the shine, you can replace the bodies with Azone Flection bodies which, while they are also injection molded, have a matte finish.

For some odd reason, I'm attached to the name "Kiyomi" (which I prefer use in most games that allow you to create red-headed twintailed girls). I also like the King of Fighters series, which has characters who have 'awakened' versions colloquially known as Orochi-whoever (ie. Shermie → Orochi Shermie). So, "OrochiKiyo". Aren't you sorry you asked?

Since Saber's a blond, you can skip the wig cap. and since she's dressed in nearly all-white you should have no fear of stains with the current set of clothes.

Dark clothing and humidity is the enemy, and resist the urge to brush out any styling done to the hair, that ahoge is a lot harder to restore than it looks.

If you get new clothes, Volks has the best fit since they were cut for Dollfie dream bodies. But it gets expensive fast. so don't let this stop you from trying other sources. Also, without sounding like a broken record, be careful of dark clothes. I'm sure you've read all about it so it doesn't need to be repeated here.

staining is not as vicious as it sounds, the experience of horror is inflated because it's so nasty to get out. it won't set in immediately.

My bad experience was mid summer when I got some dark clothes from dollmore and left the windows open all weekend. I think I read on Flickr or somewhere else that a lot of vinyl bjd enthusiasts in equatorial regions like Brazil also have a hard time fighting stains. So only under those extreme conditions should it appear to be an immediate problem that can set in as fast as a day.

In other words, dress your girl to your heart's content but not for long durations. Keep her safe and dry or at least dressed in light clothes (such as a slip or nighty) when storing. Because that would be the worst: discovering problems after you haven't seen her in a long time :(

pic related, the outfit of woe. Dyes from the dark knit polyester hoodie and socks did quite a lot of damage. I have red and green outfits from volks and azone and never had stains, and took it for granted it wouldn't happen to me. All it took was some bad conditions and some new clothes. (for the record, after washing with bleach some evidence of sublimation still persisted)

Azone Nodoka is very cute, but I'm worried she'd be lonely without any of the other K-On cast. (I only have a Chisa ~ My First Diary, with a new Flection XS body.) I can't figure out what other clothes I'd like to see Nodoka in other than the uniform. This is why I like the non-character dolls: they let me make my own story.

I'm currently waiting for a DD whose face sculpt I really enjoy. Almost all of them are fairly mature looking. I like something that is more cute and "little girl" like.
