6717177 No.6717177 [Reply] [Original]

Hello /jp/, I have a question for you.

Allow me to preface that I'm not an avid 4chan browser by any means, at most I'll spend 20 minutes every few weeks answering question on /3/. All that to say, I'm sorry if this is a common question, and I don't know if this is exactly the proper board for my question, but I'll proceed anyway (I'll be sure to delete my thread promptly if it is not).

I'm looking to get into visual novels, not dating sims per se, but something engaging to me that I can interact with while I'm on the computer, as a short break from doing work.

I'm not too familiar with many titles, but I have played some of the more well known releases like Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai and Saya no Uta, but I'm going to assume /jp/ is a lot more familiar with this medium.

I'll take any suggestions you have for me, be it an essentials list or otherwise. Links would also be very helpful, but I figure I can get most of them off mediafire.

Thank you so much in advance, and I apologize if this thread crops up here oft.

>You should also stop coming to 4chan you fucking mongoloid, this is one of the most famous websites on the entire planet.
Depends on what you mean by "one of the most famous". There are plenty bigger.

But you forget how the world at large views 4chan. Normals in general see 4chan as equal to /b/. The other boards matter little to them, aisde the boards equal to /b/ such as /a/, /v/, /gif/, /r9k/, /s/, /sp/ and so on. /jp/ is safe.

Well, I'm out, /jp/. Bunk statistics aside, this was a rousing suscess. You're all scholars as far as I can tell.

mods aren't board-specific, don't listen to that faggot. he'll become a janitor at best. he'd have to be one of moot's gay friends to become a mod.

I forgot. Well, /jp/ is fine with just a janitor hanging around instead of a mod anyways.

Good god
I assumed this was an exaggeration but from what I hear about the length of this VN I wonder if this might actually be accurate.

This actually sounds like a good VN. I wonder what a stupidly long VN would be like. If it's well written, then I'll just grow more attached to characters than ever before, then probably be depressed as fuck at the end, regardless of whether or not it ends well.
>depressing endings
Oh shit, I want to this translated. I'll probably kill myself after a depressing ending after that long with characters.

Probably the combination of obscure writing style and excess length put off most people from ever getting to the end, and the endings don't sound like they are exactly rewarding either.

OP, you should visit the games section of Hongfire. There are a lot of forum posts that don't expire at the rate those on 4chan do. So, you get the benefit of having advice to others be persistent.
