The people visiting my home are mostly in their mid to late 20s and most are not anime fans. I was actually surprised when an old college friend was in town visiting with his wife who I never met before. She shows up and runs up to one of the figure shelves and goes "OMG is that one from Moon Phase???"

I guess I should point out that I have other non-animu stuff on display that is equally "strange". For example, the Mcfarlane tortured souls series of figures. Like a fat man being eviscerated by meat hooks and things like that. There is also a whole set of the mcfarlane dragon series in a big glass display case which seems to draw the most attention.

It is quite possible that the anime figures simply don't stand out as much when compared to all the other strange stuff in my home.

This fig is based on the anime, so I'll order it. I also expect Suika to sell retarded fast, due to her high popularity. But it don't matter for Griffon, they make 100000 versions and restock all the time, but never lower the prices... except for that ugly ass hikki touhou girl, the figurine looks just so damn bad.

EMS twice, pretty expensive but very fast.

Registered SAL twice, cheaper than EMS, but both times I ended up with a customs fee that made it more expensive than EMS. So next time I'm going with EMS again.

My own criteria is that I ask myself, "Ok, do I like this show/game enough that I'm still going to be happy with this figure a year from now? Two years from now?"

I mean for example just the other day I almost paid like $80 for a Sherlock Shellingford nendoroid, because I really liked Milky Holmes, but then stopped myself because I thought "Eh.. I personally don't even like Sher out of the Holmes crew, and I'm basically always always going to keep her posed with just one face on her for basically the rest of time", but then further realized that a year from now it's going to be yet another 11 or 12 ep light comedy which are a dime a dozen, and always get to a status in my mind of "meh, that's so old and dated now, who the fuck cares now". On the other hand, something like nendo Flandre is an insta buy for me, because I have constantly liked Flan for many years now, and doubt I'll be stopping anytime soon.

My BRS twintail came broken too...

note- superglue did not work for me. I used some crappy 0.99USD glue though... for some reason it didn't support the weight of the pigtail.

Then I used hotglue, and it worked just fine. A single drop of hotglue held it up pretty securely.

Finally got the Dead Master PVC and I can already see the problems. Finger barely holds with a skull, one of the wings is a bitch to fit in.

It took me a good 30 minutes just to get her set up.

her heels were really really hard to get in the stand & I think they actually will come off from the foot... and the wings... dear god the wings were nearly impossible to put in her back. They still aren't fully in, but they are secure.

And the skull- also really difficult to attach to the finger. But still, paintjob & sculpt came out looking really nice.

People whining about the wings/skull not fitting perfectly on DM make me giggle. If there's too much plastic on the pegs, sand it down a little. If there's not enough, add a layer with some dried superglue + tissue lint. Mine arrived with the head broken clean off, but I managed to glue it just fine back on. Babies.

I do agree that GSC needs to step up the quality control, though. If Senjougahara isn't perfect I'll be pissed.
