That is just fanwank made by, surprise surprise, people new to Touhou that dont get ZUN humor.
During Aya interview Mystia seems to be unable to read her newspaper or something, but this is because she has short sighted/myopia, which is funny because she is a Night Sparrow and her power is night-blindness.
ZUN uses this ironic humor frequently, like Youmu being afraid of Ghosts on IN Extra Stage.
