You're in deep shit because it's a position where they can hit you at the same time. Also one can hit you from the side. Instantly raped.

You need to back up behind that rock so you can only possibly see one at a time through the valley, and so your front is facing them. As they try to pull into the valley, damage them (or track them) and back up. Rinse and repeat until they are totally lured in. Maybe with luck your teammate can flank from behind.

I could explain this in an essay but I'll try and give a general idea: shoot the front of their tank before their turret comes out behind the rock, as they are chasing you. It will track them or kill the driver.
If they camp, let them. Tank it easy and wait behind your rock. There are times to go on the offense and an enemy in cover is a bad time to do so.

Or you can go with Russian heavies, but I suspect they'll be getting nerfed (or other tanks getting buffed). I'd still stick with motherfucking King Tiger though personally. It bothers me how Russian tanks are so good in late-game when in reality the vast majority of Russian tanks were paper thin mass produced junk, whereas the late German tanks were the serious motherfucking heavies (that would have been amazing if they didn't break down every 10 meters).

There's really only one reason to go KV-1S over KV-3 and that is it's cheaper, 600k instead of 1mil. It is a medium tank basically AND it can't mount what is considered to be one of the best Russian guns, the 107mm.

The KV-1S can't even unlock the IDIOT gun for IS which has higher dps than the first 122mm.

Suspensions never transfer
Engine (V-2IS): Available on KV-3 and KV-1S, Transfers
Radio (10RK): Available since KV, Transfers
Guns:
(Stock) 76mm ZiS-5: Does not transfer
76mm S-54: Transfers to T-34 group, but not to the IS
122mm U-11: Transfers to T-34-85 and T-43, but not to the IS
85mm D5_T: Does transfer and is not available on the KV-3
122mm D-2-5T: Transfers, but is also available on the KV-3
Turrets don't transfer

So that's the whole equipment tree. One module, ONE, transfers and isn't available on the KV-3. And the 100mm D10T available on the KV-3 is demonstrably better than it and further transfers to the IS-3 as well. In return for this one below average transferable gun, you have to spend 7k more exp to get the actual research for the IS and have to deal with a tank that is worse in every aspect except its maneuverability. The only point of the KV-1S is to get to the KV-13 so you can cut over to the Soviet Medium tank line, but it isn't in the game yet, so it doesn't even have that going for it.

So stop saying that, it's incorrect. The only reason to go for the KV-1S is if you prefer mobility over all else (in which case I have to ask why you're going down the heavy tree instead of the medium tree).

The game is originally Russian. There are Russian Servers. They expanded to add US servers (what we're playing on). Now they're also adding European servers.

Performance wise this will make it either faster or slower depending on your location and where the group ends up going to. Currently there's a small edge for staying with the US servers. It doesn't matter too much to me, so long as I can tank it easy with some /jp/ers and obsess over tank skins. We just need to reach a consensus for where we're going so we can stick together when it happens.

If I remember right, the soft wipe will also be happening around the same time.

That happened to me on Sand River, my team was filled with TDs so they all camped like crazy, I took my DB northwest behind the ridge cover along with an M6. Killed 4 enemies at the enemy base, he killed one, we both died at the flag when the enemy T32 came all the way back to defend. With my team outnumbering them like 12 to 4, they were still camping against nothing since they enemy was falling back to defend.

I bitched that everyone was still camping while I had 4 kills and was sitting at enemy base and I get the response "and you're dead", as if the fact that they're still alive while doing almost nothing justifies their retarded camping.

USSR late tanks were superior due to their innovative structure (for late and post WWII time) and German tanks in late WWII like Kenigstiger were paper, because of insufficiency of nickel wich made well-made armor of Tiger I and low-nickel armor of Tiger II (even with better tilt angles) equal.
Russian heavy tank КВ (KV in english version) was made when german constructed their middle-weight Panzer kampfwagen IV and don't even thing about something as heavy as their future Tiger.
German's heavy tanks was heavy only on their scheme and designs.
USA in WWII perios hadn't any heavy tanks. Just like Britain. Pershing? It's totally medium-class tank. T-30? T-34? T-32? Yeah, they were heavy tanks. With around 100 mm lower armor (don't know how "корпус танка" in English, sorry). Very heavy-armored machine indeed.

I'd still peg the T-34 as a Medium, at least the early-mid war ones. In weight class, at the very least. And German tanks were plenty "heavy," the Germans were the only ones to call the Panther a "medium."

Though I guess they'd all look small to a Russian. Considering that fucking super-long LAND BATTLESHIP, the T-35, the Czar tank, and other related ginormo-scale horrors. The flying tank and the TB-3 + 5 parasite fighters... well let's not get into that.

So your playstyle is one befitting a heavy. So play a heavy. Medium and light tanks shouldn't be in that position in the first place. If the camp gets stale, a medium could move around the backside of the tank behind the rock if it gets lucky enough to dodge a shot from the heavy behind the peninsula, but you intentionally chose a scenario which is skewed against mobility and asked why mobility doesn't work. It's like asking why long walks don't do well on short piers or why Heavy Tanks don't do well in wide open fields.

I always go north side on Karelia in a medium (if I'm scouting I either go north or just right down the middle). If the enemy decides to go north in force you're fucked, but more often there's only a few enemies there and you can make a dash at the right moment to get against the enemy's own rock. Then you're in great shape especially if there's TDs (I don't know why the fuck TDs ever bother going north, you can't go back and forth behind the rock with your gun turned sideways in a TD, and you're utterly fucked if a pair of mediums get in close like that.)

Of course with the way tracking is so out of control, more likely some tier 5 will manage to track you with one shot halfway to the enemy rock and you get torn apart out in the open. But anyway the north side and flanking enemies hiding behind rocks SHOULD be the best way to go with a medium

The north side of Karelia doesn't have bush cover, therefore the enemy will be ducking back behind the rocks after shooting, that's when you move, especially if they just got hit hard and are probably scared to pop right out immediately. Best bet with the KV is to literally stand back. If a fast tank begins to circle you then you are pretty much stuffed if they have Arty, especially if they begin to hit your tracks.

Once the scouts, usually on both sides, begin to bite the dust, start moving forward. KV's can take quite a few shots from TD's unlike the scouts, so usually you meatshield while your arty/other TDs take out the enemy one.

That or blow the TD yourself, your frontal armor makes it a bane for TD users like me to kill you >.>.

IIRC, sound is built into the spotting mechanics. Allows you to "see" another tank on the other side of a building you're next to, for example. That includes your crew hearing better if your tank isn't moving etc.

I tried going to the north side to see if it was better. I spotted a t-44 and 4 other tanks driving up into camping positions. I got behind a rock and tried to peek out to get a better look. The PZIV has more front armor, but less sides and rear, and if you mount the second turret your traverse speed with it is fucking awful compared to the shermans 42, also it's engine has the same horsepower but it's a heavier tank, so it maneuvers worse. The 10cm is pretty much a carbon copy of the 105 except it can also load AP ammo.

The M7 is the other t5 American medium you get from the American light tree

I don't know, there is something to be said for the ZiS-4 on T-34. It is probably the best counter to lights or light mediums in the whole game. Taking into account the 2 second reload time and the ability to punch through even a Tiger's glacis and I'll accept the trade any day.

The 60 degree slope seems to take up only a small portion of the tank, and the tank is lighter and slower than the Leo, with probably less HP (guessing from its weight). Since it's tier7 though, the devs will probably make it appropriately better than the Leo.

As for the Tier 7 light, it really is a light. With a gun on par with high-level mediums, but barely any armor and shitloads of agility. The IRL AMX-13 was first armed with a high-velocity 75mm similar to the german L/70 and later upgunned to 90mm and even 105mm high-velocity guns.
