Sooo... due to factors and circumstances that be (heading to Africa for field studies, biology doctorate here), I'm kinda forced to get rid of my rig and have a laptop instead.

The actual question: DS or PSP to satisfy my need for that stuff.

>mfw actually needing to sell my rig

PSP for Monster Hunter, Valkyria Chronicles, Phantasy Star Portable 2, etc.

DS for JRPGs, games easy to pick up and start whenever, and Pokemon everywhere forever

I got both and play em pretty evenly so it's really up to what you want to play.

I'd help you, but I don't like posts that have mfw in them. Sorry, if you going to post like that, then you should have made the thread in /v/.

Firstly, it's a computer, not a "rig". Secondly don't use "mfw" or green text here.
Thirdly, make the decision yourself based on what games there are for each of them. You're a biology doctorate, you shouldn't need people no an anonymous image-board to hold your hand through life.

I really don't know much about handheld gaming systems. I'm going to spend a lot of time camping, so which has better screen in sunlight?

beginning doctorates in public academia instead of private companies doing research doesn't yield that much money, which is why I ask before buying.

I'm also interested in best of the best games for both, for reference, I'm a Touhoufriend with FFVI as favourite FF and frequent this board.

PSP-3000, while having a better screen than previous models, can be a bit harder or impossible to hack if you were looking into doing that. PSP-2000s might be able to handle it though. Unsure of how bright you're talking about.

All of the newer DS models should be able to play well in sunlight and are easy to get flashcarts for.

He's a biology doctorate. He's been spending his time working on his studies instead of checking out the latest in chinese girl games for portable systems.

Do you seriously believe this kid is a biology doctorate? Come on now.

So much potential and still doesn't know how to make a good post on /jp/.

Why not? I'm doing masters in mathematics and applying for PhD places. /jp/ has all sorts.

because making decent posts when all the others are shitty on a shitty imageboard site is required course material for biology.
