Yes, if I'm not mistaken, it's somewhat popular over there.

WoW basically took most of the generic standard elements that were expected in all the different kinds of Asian MMORPGs, and then they just shoved it all together into one game without any real effort, applied the warcraft skin to it, and then drove one of the largest marketing campaigns of our time.

It's not that weird that it isn't nearly as popular over there.
