Wall scrolls.

They come in various sizes, but most of them are in jumbo-poster range, around 100cm in height etc. They're all pre-made. Some older ones are hard to find these days.

There are also bootleg ones that are actually usually in fact just custom scrolls. Cheap scrolls might not have as vibrant an image... duller colors, most of all black, if you're getting a mostly dark-colored scroll make especially sure that it's the highest quality possible.

They're way better than posters in that they last for just about forever. Or, they should at least.. they shouldn't fade with light (like normal posters do), and as long as you know how to roll up them without inducing wrinkles, will always look good.

There are also normal posters as well. Top quality posters may be laminated in plastic to prevent UV damage/tearing.

Lastly it seems it's popular to use magazine cutouts too. Some mags give little pullouts and people just collect tens to hundreds of those and plaster a wall with them. I don't really go that myself though since I think the individual images are too small to really be noticed/appreciated.

It really depends on the major on how good of work-related jobs you can get from it.

Like if he did Econ, and got an internship before he graduated, it's very easy to start out with a good wage and crawl up the payscale over the years.

However it also depends on geography on where your major / experience can get you. For example if you're a biotech major (or generally a molecular/biochem guy), it'll be much much easier to find work if you live in the Bay Area (aka south San Francisco, Silicon Valley etc) than if you lived in say, I don't know, North Dakota.

Of course, if he's doing some liberal arts degree or some other job with very little plausible openings or avenues (such as a history major, where you're basically stuck with a toilet paper degree unless you become a teacher/professor or did law school).. then yeah, college might be a big waste of time.

My work station is my bed (laptop). Have a desk, but I don't like using it.

Don't feel like posting a pic because then I'd feel compelled to fix my bed. XD

They are actually Copic markers, unless you're talking about the little white box to the right of the Copic markers, which actually are Prismacolor markers. My drawfaggotry is low-tier, but have a Shinki.
