I would say I'm mediocre. Someone I know got into it and he's pretty bad though, he's playing on Easy and hasn't beaten it either. Do your best, OP, you'll get it down one day!

I only played the games like twice and I could never get more than three or four stages in.

Age is getting the better of me games wise due to bloody arthritis so yeah soon I will suck even at easy.

Yes, I do suck, I'm still clawing and biting to reach the Final stages on Hard (and Lunatic for IN).

Practice fucking more. That's your number one tip.

I play it because of the music and because seeing my waifu always gets me excited for some reason.
I suck too, but don't want to try easy modo for some reason.

Honestly, I don't think IN is that much easier. I struggle to get past stage 4 lunatic without a continue, same as most games. But then, I barely play IN, and I'm better at bombing than at dodging.

Smash your face against the wall of difficulty repeatedly. Abuse continues at first to unlock levels for practice and then try to clear levels in practice mode without using any bombs. Don't be afraid to amp the difficulty level to one you're not used too either, I actually started at Lunatic and slowly worked my way down as I got used to it. That may not work for you though.

memorization of bullet patterns and stages seem to play a key role in beating hard stages...

memory? hell no that's no fun I'll just 1CC all of them on easy mode.
Right now I am just missing EoSM, Marisa in UFO, and fuck the alternative bullet types.
It's not a real 1CC if it's not on normal mode, so I hope I'll get one someday.

I am required to post. Only Touhou I can beat is IN on easy using all three continues. Normal on IN is right out, can't get past stage four. I've tried from PCB to UFO and I cannot beat them on any difficulty. =[

Picture related, it's how I feel when looking at the prospect of playing any Touhou game anymore, forseeing imminent ass-kicking. As a result, I just listen to the doujin albums and collect the pretty pictures.

Still cant 1cc most of the games on Hard. Feels really bad.
I've beaten MoF, PCB, and EoSD (in that order) on hard.
Also I call bullshit on IN, you can perfect the entire game and if you flop on the Last Spell NOPE BAD ENDING FOR YOU.

Refuse to play Easy mode, it makes you worse in the long wrong. Start with normal, and deal with it. Theres no shame in picking Reimu's homing amulets. Its good to help you focus more on dodging than shooting if you can't do both.

I still cant 1cc Subterranean Animism on normal, goddamn what the fuck.

Just watch replays. Shmups are like fighting games, your skill in them transfers over to other games in the genre and it takes a while to get good at them.

I'm terrible at touhou. Used to try 1cc-ing the games every day, not as much lately..

Maybe I'll get back to it when Touhou 13 is out.
