Not bi at all, but for some reason female characters are just more fun to play. I do it for two reasons;
1) It's fun, once or twice a week, to not have to be my offline self. The character's sort of taken on a popularity of her own. I do have a "me" account on the server but it's not nearly as popular, even amongst the friends in common between the two.
2) The friends I've made with the avatar not only know what I am offline, but still ask me to be in-character. Hell, half of them helped me develop the character. I sort of feel like I'm paying them back with it. They alllllmost regard me as 'one of the girls', it's actually quite fun.

The main problem is that many of the MMOs where this kind of thing was actually effective in the past are now being filled with old married couples and such, so it doesn't get you much of anything anymore.
