Great number of characters in a fighting game = balancing hell.
It's a new game, so it's better if the number remains 10 or so and we get a decent game than having 20 characters with broken and worse-than-shit tier characters.
They chose a few representatives and are adding a lot more through special moves/assists, just give up on new characters.
