3DCG thread. Post saves, links to mods, discuss modding, post pics of your waifu being violated, etc.
What 3DCG is: 3d custom girl, a program for creating a character and posing it. Has a light, sort of subpar sex sim. Using MMD(mikumikudance) you can create your own animations as well.

DISCLAIMER: Consider all mods and hardsaves in this thread to be of Japanese origin unless stated otherwise. The original modder is rarely known, however.

Wiki: http://3dcg.wikia.com/wiki/3D_Custom_Girl_Wiki

INSTALLATION TORRENT(read comments for instructions):http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FGGOQP5P
MODS(also contains game): http://www.mediafire.com/?6rrxdgx8ka1stkt

Mods go in the "arcs" folder inside the 3DCG game folder. Saves go inside my documents/techarts3d/TDCG/. Poses go inside /TDCG/pose/.
Mod catalogs can be found in the old threads. Ctrl+f for "catalog".

If you're looking for something, please use ctrl+f and search before asking. If your request has been discussed already, it may be considered a troll.

Old thread(links to even older threads found in OP):

Avoid posting the full URL when linking to Japanese uploaders or files in uploaders. Typical custom on Japanese boards is to remove the "h" in "http://"(as shown above). This helps lighten their server load, and helps us avoid getting IP banned as the Japanese are apt to do.

it's advertised as being a game where you can take copyrighted characters and pose/animate them.

i don't think much has been revealed as to how customizable the game is going to be.

however, the game's basic graphics are far more in the vein of this game than any other illusion game has been(schoolmate/SM2 were close, but arguably more realistic).

so the answer is:

graphics: yes
gameplay: we don't know yet... i think, i'll go check again. you can animate stuff, though. but you can do that with this too using MMD, which will probably be considerably superior to whatever they come up with.

3DCG has gotten the most faps in a long run.
SM2 is -slowly- catching up.

For Illusion games,
Rapelay was meh. Penis sticking out everywhere wasn't appealing either.
SM1 did better. Homemate was also decent.
Yuusha and Real Kanojo were horrible imo.
Sexy Beach never appealed to me.
I'd love to explore the LoveDeath games some more from their TeaTime branch, but they fry my Faptop a bit too much.

Now if they made a game with SM2 graphics, the huge customization of 3DCG (and plentiful mods, thanks). It'd be the best h-game ever for me.

hmm... i have to agree that i liked SM2's graphics the best of all illusion games so far, but i think that was more or less due to graphical effects rather than anything else. SM2 has this blurriness about it, and if it didn't have that i don't think it would look quite as good as it does.

tdcg does a better job of staying true to typical 2d graphics, if you care at all about that.

but i agree that the most important thing is that sm2 and illusion games in general lack in customizability and, seemingly, modding community. then again, i have explored the jp TDCG modding community far more than the illusion one.

however, i've never seen mods for an illusion game that impress me nearly as much as the applications i see in 3dcg in terms of convenience or effect. i'm referring to tmoproportion and MMD's use here. i consider sb3utility to pretty much be the illusion modding community's crowning achievement(darkhound's illusion morpher running second), but while it's a great tool, it's equalled or surpassed in overall convenience by tdcgexplorer.

sometimes i wonder why the developers of these games don't include their own versions of these third party programs in their releases. not enough money for it i guess. i don't think there would be many legal issues in it, and i doubt the modders would request much monetary compensation even if there were considering they do it for free.

Guys, really, stop over thinking this and just follow the instructions.

-Install the iso.
-Extract the "required files" to the install directory.

That's it.

There is no "install order", there is no more applying patch over patch - that's why we have the install package.

Also, note to OP: I would change:
>NSTALLATION TORRENT(read comments for instructions)
to
"Installation Package (read ReadMe for instructions"

While it does have the torrent in it, calling it a torrent is a little misleading.

I do have a bit of an idea as to the recommended mods thing, though.

When I download a mod and unzip folders, I usually dump the sample pics into a folder as they are. I didn't start doing this too long ago, but I have a decent collection of sample pics from zip files.

I'm considering uploading that folder so that people can take a look at what I've downloaded and possibly make requests for stuff they want in the file. It'd be/feel easier than picking out mods at random if people actually looked at the stuff and found things they liked.

I suppose I could go for awhile just picking out things I like out of my collection as well, though.

>> No.6468410

>>6468379

That would be fine - my only real concerns are that the mods be of a good quality, complete (meaning not shoving in 3 parts of a 4 part project and calling it finished) and things that people actually want.

Obviously tastes differ, but anything that looks to be popular here and meets the other to criteria is good enough for me. I just want to be able to compile it all into one easy to use (well annotated) distribution rather then having people jumping through hoops to find things like we were yesterday.

Like I said, if we could get one such package a month out I don't think that would require a vast amount of work (took us a few hours last night to get 90% of the work done, now it's just me being anal about things) - I think that would be a pretty good way to keep interest up/new things coming.

oh, ok. found it on http://www.deadfrog.us/entry.html?id=13927&show_all_files=1 but looks like it needs some external mods too.

the hair and body weren't changed with the included saves, so since i had a loli character active before, i ended up with dfc selvaria in a wig.

Check out my tripple post.

Question for you all - how big do you want a single mod pack to be?

Should I vary it depending on the content available when I feel like releasing? Not release until a certain point? Only release after a certain point?

If I put everything I'd like to put into this one we're talking nearly 800megs at this point - I'd been aiming for closer to 600 originally. So what do you all want?

Also, dear god I can't make this one damn .tah work. Have 3 hardsaves, want the bodies in a single .tah that shows as one body with 3 options... If anyone wants to take on a small project I'll gladly post the 3 bodies... Please... (Nothing fancy, just the .tah, a small image to go with it so we know what it is, etc. etc. Done properly, but not fancy.)

Alright, someone else will have to handle the characters pack then, if we're going to have that. Shouldn't be overly difficult, as those are just hard saves. Drag & Drop.

a character pack could probably just as easily be a mod pack in itself.

there are a lot of copyrighted characters in existence.

in terms of getting the community actually doing something, i think a mod application pack would be most beneficial, but i suppose that should wait until we have some decent explanations of how to use the apps on the wiki.

and by that i'm referring to the point that many characters have their own tah packs. e.x. SRW characters, the RO priest, etc.

to those of you who don't like the voice, there's a tah which changes the voice in tim0774.zip. you could probably open it with tahdecrypt/tdcgexplorer and replace the sound files too.

also, there's a .ini file with a ton of settings changes(such as changes to bloom, motion blur, etc) in tim0780.zip. going to go on the jp wiki later and see if it includes all of them.

Any idea of tim0780 includes antialiasing settings? (VM, so I have little control machine wise.)

So my parameters for the mod pack have changed a bit. Size limit is 1Gb, probably wont release with less than 600Mb. - So expect something in that range.

Character saves will be fine if they're *really* popular, aka: Touhous - but character .tahs will be preferred over saves. The majority of content will be general mods, bondage gear, swimsuits, loli bodies (3, in this pack so far - finished the .tah I was trying to get right - following eyes still included/working), etc.

No no, it worked splendidly. I only counted that as one body, despite it having 3 options. I replaced the single body .tah that was posted with that one - since they're the same default body and the following eye works with both.

So now we have that, the second loli body with following eye - and then the body you posted last thread as a recommendation for the modpack (the mod450's one).

So I guess you could really say 5 bodies, but 3 .tahs.

i've got a sizable number of mods picked out now, this time almost solely from the shirt, pants, and whole body sections.

i wanted to ask to be sure: you're keeping track of which mods have been used thus far, right? and i've pulled the 3d Custom Shoujo mods out of my arcs folder, but i think i may still have some mods that overlap with the mods in it(because i put the 3DCS Mods pack into a separate folder inside the arcs directory, there may be duplicate files).

if you have a good way of checking for that, that would probably be best, since i don't think we want any mods we include in the pack to be in the "shoujo mods" pack as well and i won't be redownloading the mods myself.

>> No.6474532

>>6474449

Yes, I've stored all the xpc/mod/etc. #s and such, and they're all included in the readme.

What I'm debating right now is if I want to:
1. Extract each xpc/mod/etc. to it's own folder, and include them all in the arcs folder.
2. Extract each xpc/mod/etc. to a "3DCG jp Mod Pack 1" folder, and only include the .tah files.

Opinion? Alternative? My one requirement is that whoever downloads only need Drag & Drop the arcs folder into their 3DCG directory for everything to work.

>>6474858
that's a complicated question to answer, because sometimes it's difficult to know whether there is already a tah for the character in existence.

having duplicate tah files is not particularly harmful and easy to solve, but we don't really want to create duplicate mods for characters with different names and different slots.

i would say that so long as it's beyond reasonable doubt that the character has no tah file(like one of the ar tonelico characters, if i remember right), go ahead and make a tah out of it, if you're willing to do so. assuming we ever get people with the ability/will to mod, it'll remove an extra step for them. making it easier to use tahhair to get full colors for the hair color it contains is another plus.

if anything, i suppose the best solution would be to post a save of the character(if it's too big, make it a normal save) and we can discuss whether it has a tah already in existence or not.

(quickly, the answer is: try downloading XPC01734, and i'd recommend at least downloading 1721 as well)

i don't know if you've figured out how to do this or not, but just for educational purposes for anyone who doesn't:

if you have the zip file name, you can usually find related zip files. for example, in this case, the zip file contained a heavy save preview of a mod.

this doesn't always work, but looking up XPC01738 on the 3DCGMRS brings up this page: http://3dcustom.ath.cx/rails/arcs/4182

near the middle of the screen(for me) on that page, it shows related mods. it shows XPC01734.

since one mod related to another mod is often related to mods also related to said other mod, it's usually a good idea to check out all related mods of a mod as well.

in this case, clicking on XPC01734 brings up XPC01721 as well, in addition to XPC01699 at the bottom.

1699 and 1721 are old versions of the mod, but sometimes downloading them may not be a bad idea(it says that 1721 contains a bonus(omake), but 1734 makes no note of it so it may not be included)

i uploaded a similar file in a previous thread, but this contains all of the .cs proportion files that i use.

there are a lot of them, and their names are not descriptive; i highly suggest sorting through them to find what you want using tso2pmd and NOT tmoproportion, as seeing what each does for yourself with tmoproportion will take forever.

just put whatever .cs files you want to use in your proportions folder and they should be good to go. i don't really recommend running tmoproportion with all of them in your proportions folder at once; the program loads slowly and changing poses will take longer.

also, i'll probably include this in the next one.

i don't think it's a particularly good mod as it stands, but it's the only shirt(or garment period) i know of that doesn't mold around the breasts. if it was retextured and possibly remodelled a bit(it's a little big, i think, but that's not really one of my complaints with it), it would be a good addition to the game.

Just my personal, but I would leave them here personally. It's a /jp/ mod pack, leave it for /jp/. Your call though, if you think they'd be better there.

The only one that I ask does stay in this thread only is the install pack - if HF find it and decides they like that it'll limit out every day.

>add it to the wiki under character creation(i'm assuming you'll have notes to write about it or something--i can do it if you want) and/or mods.

Err, add what exactly? To be honest I don't have a lot to say about it. I could load in the list of contents, but the source files are already listed out in a text file... Intructions are all in the ReadMe...

I do have a slightly more explanatory working file I was using that I could load in... But it's based off the the recommendations post you made, so it's about as specific as "dresses, summer dresses, loli body, etc."

Hmm... well, I think I already added the installation pack to the wiki, but I'll remove it. However, I had planned to keep the /jp/ template written on there as well, and that should contain a link to the installer pack. Do you not want me to include it in the template as written on the wiki?

If you don't have anything to write about the mod pack, that's fine. Personally, I think it should be distributed as much as possible; the more people get into the game, the better. I'd like a Western modding scene; as much as I appreciate their mods, I don't like relying on the Japanese for everything.

The thing about making things only for /jp/ is that there are a lot of people capable of modding and modelling that go to Hongfire, and also that I'm of the opinion that the bigger community we can build, the better, so building interest at Hongfire was one of my goals.

Hongfire users have a pretty bad rap over here(I'm not sure if I'd want a lot of them on /jp/ myself), but they do actually produce things and have some capable modellers/programmers. I may be wrong on some of these, but I believe taanimator, tsodecrypt, tahdecrypt, and more originated from Hongfire.

If you don't want something linked on Hongfire, that's entirely up to you; please say so. If you're concerned about download limits or something, I don't mind uploading at a separate location myself.

After saying the above, I do have to recognize that we do seem to have some talented modellers on /3/ as well, but I'm not sure if they'd be interested in the game. I have a lot of ideas about functionality that could be added to 3DCG as well, which is why I mention programmers(although I'm not sure how many of my ideas are possible).

Since the wiki wasn't even started before these threads, and you seem to be doing all the work I'm going to assume it's really a /jp/ thing anyway. So if you'd like to keep the template there with the link included that's fine. I'll just ask that you not directly link it on HF. If you would like to upload it somewhere else and provide HF with that link, I would have no objection to that.

You have loftier goals than myself, but that's fine. Personally I won't be venturing outside of this thread, but if you'd like to feel free. I will admit some decent things (schoolmate 2 HF patch, for example) have come out of HF, much as I dislike the community. So as I said, if you deem it appropriate to share the mod packs outside of this thread I wont object.

That being the case, I'll leave it to your judgment, but recommend that if you do share something with HF you wait for the final versions before doing so - just to keep things simple. Again though, your call.

Well, if we branch outside of TDCG, it looks far better for them. I mentioned it because I was talking about HF as if it's our only chance for people capable of modding, and seeing some of the things /3/ people make(supposedly), it'd be great if there were interested people. >loftier goals
I suppose it's a little foolish to try to push it when almost everything is in Japanese, but I'd like to see if the community can be made into something better. That's the main reason I'm interested in building things in English(like the wiki and a new mod catalog) and making things more readily accessible(the mod packs). I think the main thing that keeps people who would otherwise be interested from getting into TDCG is a lack of accessibility.

it's a possibility. one i'm trying to work towards, but i probably can't do it alone in any reasonable amount of time.

anyone can help with a mod catalog. literally, all it takes is downloading a mod, opening up the TAH it contains in TDCG explorer, clicking on the model to preview it, and then writing a short description. anything whose purpose is difficult to tell can probably be filled in by a japanese speaker(me).

catalog creation is easy enough if people just write short descriptions for mods they download that aren't listed in another catalog. after that it's mostly a matter of accumulation over time.

if people post descriptions of mods they find that aren't in this catalog(http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4FL0KSWE)), i personally am willing to add them to the catalog and release an updated catalog every thread.

i have been thinking of contacting the 3DCGMRS site about making an english version, but i'm not sure how that will go, but if one was made, then given an english catalog, we would have everything you're thinking of.

except thumbnails. that might be a little hard. i don't think the japanese even have that.

The 3DCGMRS is already an excellent resource for mod information. The vast majority of mods are already catalogued there--however, their descriptions are in Japanese.

Something like this is going to have to happen over a period of time, granted. But we already have a searchable database, and we have a starting point with the current catalogs(current catalogs go up to about XPC0800).

I can tell you it's a easily more doable than those open translation projects /jp/ always has a thread about.

personally, i don't really see thumbnails as an absolute necessity. mod files are rarely large, and previewing them after download is extremely easy with TDCGexplorer.

generally, the only files that are large enough to be inconvenient to download are body mods, and a thumbnail photo is not enough to make a judgment on whether you like a body mod or not.

I as thinking closer to 2 minutes actually.

Assuming 2 minutes, rather than 5 - and let's just go with the 10,000 mod estimate, though I'm sure that number has doubled by now - you're talking 330+ hours of work. This is assuming you never ran into a mod that you couldn't figure out, etc. etc.

But if you're feeling ambitious, go for it.

>>6476981
True. There is an existing, mostly complete list...

I don't know much about Jap, so I'm not qualified to say if this would work - but what if we machine translated the list as a preliminary thing - and then edited the entries - rather than having to translate and/or build the list from scratch.

Even people who can't speak jap (myself) could assist in the editing.

Also, I love the booru idea someone posted. We could use the tagging system to reflect what the image was as well as the mods used to get it. That would be great.

the issue of new packs coming out every day should be easily solvable if we have even 5 reliable people. assign 1 person to check one uploader each day, and if they go through with it(what are they looking at, dling one mod a day on average, writing one sentence for it and posting it on 4chan?), problem solved.

isn't a system like they use pretty well suited for this? Have an open system where people have a line to fill in information for, and to update it all they have to do is find the mod they're looking to update, double click an entry form, and save.

I'm not overly familiar with the boorus, but IMHO it sounds like the best idea so far.

You'd upload a screenshot of a mod, tag it with the mod name and some keywords, and maybe put the source into the comments for the mod name tag. Or upload a hard save and just tag it with everything you see. Easy to search...

Sure, it'd take some time to fill it up, but you gotta start somewhere.

I personally find mod catalogs, ultimately, unnecessary. I've had 3DCG since its release, for almost three years now, and I've found it much more productive to just sort through the mods myself using two of my own methods.

Once you realize that many of the mods come with sample pictures, and use certain naming schemes, it becomes very easy to find exactly what you are looking for. Recognizing a few Japanese keywords also helps a lot as well, which anyone can do even if you can't read it.

What I usually do is just mass extract a ton of mods to one location, then use windows search to do one of two things:
-Search for pictures only
-Search for certain keywords

Then after searching, if I see a picture of a mod that I like the looks of, or filename tag I'm looking for, I just right click it, and jump to its folders location. Using these methods I've been able to categorize and archive this large of a hierarchy of mods that I personally like.

You know the saying how a picture always speaks a thousand words? That is especially true in this case. There are many mods that I never would have thought to track down or even knew I would have enjoyed if I didn't see the sample pictures for myself.

>as to the point about new packs coming out every day, that is really not a problem. the problem is cataloging current mods.

I agree - I was just trying to make that point that this was not going to be a 5 minute project - and I'd really hate to see the work go into it to get it started and then people bail when they see the amount of work it will require. I think that 330 hour man-hour estimate is probably relatively accurate.

That's also why I recommended a machine translation as a preliminary thing. It's not "good", but I was able to make out what most things I was looking at were, and it would allow us to build a rough catalog very quickly, as well as allow non-Jap speakers to do some of the editing. (Anyone can turn into "bondage appliance white" into "white bondage gear".)

I really don't know about the volume of new packs per day, but I'd guess that even if it were just one person it probably wouldn't take more than 20-30 minutes a week to keep the catalog up to date, if we got 5 it would be nothing.

It's amazing that you could get results that satisfy you using a method like that and knowing(apparently?) very little Japanese.

There are a great deal of mods that do not come with previews, or whose previews contains a great number of things that could potentially be the mod.

There are also a large number of mods whose filenames really have nothing to do with what they do.

I'd say a mod catalog is definitely useful and worth doing. Perhaps you work well with just sorting through random things(which is half of what it sounds like you're talking about), but when I'm looking for something it's usually very specific.

>but what if we machine translated the list as a preliminary thing - and then edited the entries

Unfortunately, machine translation almost always wastes more time than it saves, especially for Japanese and particularly for short phrases where it's hard to determine context. It'd be faster for a few people to just go through the entire list.

A bigger issue is the fact that it's difficult to determine which edits are really correct without downloading the mod and trying it out yourself. Which is why I'm heavily in favour of having some kind of images/screenshots to go along with it...

Really, I don't think we should be aiming to completely replace Japanese mod references. I'm willing to consider an English catalog just as a list of "recommended" Japanese mods + a bunch of Western ones.

Working on the wiki right now...

Is this a good enough description for how to make a .cs file? It was posted in an earlier thread(I've edited it a little).

Step-by-step summary to creating a blank proportion file:

1. Copy and paste a .cs file in your Proportion folder, remember the old name
2. Rename it
3. Open the file in Notepad
4. Find the line
" public class [THE FILE NAME IS HERE] : IProportion"
5. Replace the above name inside the .txt file with the one you gave it; DONT include the file extension(.cs) and dont delete any spaces.
6. Delete as follows:
TPONode node;

[DELETE EVERYTHING HERE]
}
Note that there must is one blank line after the TPONode line and no lines before }.
7. Save. You can now use this in TPOEditor to customize your new proportion file. I suggest keeping at least one blank copy around at all times(not necessarily in the Proportions folder itself) for convenience.

I really wish more of the mods that the english community had access to had better shading, lighting and texturing done. Most mods, especially the earlier ones, have just two-tone shaders with no lighting modifications. Body and hair mods like this are easy enough to come by but very few clothing mods are given the same treatment. I've have a decent amount of underwear and swimwear like this but almost no regular clothing.

i don't know how many mods you have, but i'll try to pick out some mods which satisfy this for the next pack. well, if you're even further along than me, that's obviously pointless, though.

could you post more examples of what you're talking about? can you do shading like that?

>> No.6477621

I can modify lightning and shading files, but it takes quite a bit of work if you have multiple versions/colors of the same model. The screenshot you just posted for example, and its models, are all done with two-toned shading with the exception of the body. Give me a few mins and I'll post some screenshots of what I'm talking about.

That looks pretty damn good. If you copy the contents of that file as a code snippet into the wiki so people can copy paste - don't think it could get any easier. Or at least, if they don't get that I'm not sure how they got their computer on in the first place.

I think I'm just going to include a blank .cs file inside of my sample proportions folder, but I'll still include those instructions.

I'm programming illiterate, and the wiki has been giving me problems with getting the copy+paste snippet idea to work because it autoconverts the text into formatting. I'm looking for an HTML tag to prevent that, but decided to write the rest of the entry first.

>> No.6477658

>>6477651

Sadly I don't think so. I'm fairly well versed in C#, but I believe the game is looking for a very specific format and is unlikely to accept anything that does not conform to that format.

Basically you're limited to editing the objects the game already knows to look for. I don't think it will take new objects or ones that aren't formatted to its standards.

This is theory, not fact.

>> No.6477668

Okay, I'm going to be adding this to the wiki, and I would greatly appreciate some input on it. At least whether or not you understood it; preferably whether or not you were able to succeed with it. Not sure how I'm going to create an image for this one. Would anyone be capable of editing the tso2pmd program so that it's translated?

start

The biggest annoyance you will find is probably that TMOProportion only has a limited number of slots that it can display for morphing on the screen.

To avoid that, you can use another program called tso2pmd in order to change the proportions of your model. tso2pmd allows you to select any individual slider and modify it, so it's better if you have many different .cs files.

To use it, put all your .cs files into the tso2pmd Proportion folder; make sure the folders have the same files except for three specific files. tso2pmd requires three or so different files to run, which are not compatible with TMOProportion. These are patterened with the name AAA_etc.cs. Don't delete them.

Open tso2pmd. Drag and drop a heavy save into the blue field. Of the three buttons on the bottom, click the upper left one to open a viewer. Go to the rightmost tab, and you can begin changing proportions.

When you're done, click the bottom button to write out the girl. You can't use this in TDCG, but this causes tso2pmd to save the proportions you've configured in a file called TPOConfig. I believe you need to delete the specifications for the three AAA_etcetc.cs files, but I'm not completely sure.

Copy the TPOConfig file from tso2pmd into the TMOProportion folder, and as long as the .cs files specified by the file match up with what's in the Proportion folder(i.e. your tso2pmd Proportion folder=your TMOProportion Proportion folder), then PNGProportion should use the settings you saved from tso2pmd.

One change--
>When you're done, click the bottom button to write out the girl. You can't use this in TDCG, but this causes tso2pmd to save the proportions you've configured in a file called TPOConfig.

I am completely sure you don't need to delete those files for TMOProportion to run, so I removed that statement.

VM is undergoing a bit of maintenance so I can't actually try it, but that part confuses me a bit. You're saying that TMOProportion has 3 files that you should leave in its folder, rather than copy them over to tso2pmd, right?

Here are four body mods I took shots of, all with the lighting coming from the right. In the first, default body, you can see a very clear line that defines the transition to full lighting and full shadow. From left to right, I tried to show examples of progressively smoother shaded body mods. You can see multiple tones of color in the transition from light to shadow in those. I hope the illustration makes it understandable, because I can't do that much a better job of explaining it than this. The little color boxes I made are probably what the shader bitmap files look like.

As for hi-lighting, you see that pure white streak on the default left-most body mod? That's the hilighting. That can also be modified to look a lot smoother and blend in with the bodies color tone much more effectively, but instead it is done in a text file.

>> No.6477712

>>6477691

If you'd like to see some examples of what I consider to be exceptionally well done mods by judging their quality of texturing, shading and hilighting, you'll have to give me some time. This is especially if you want me to share the files. I have almost all the mods I like categorized and I'm the same poster as >>6477117, but only very few of them are well done so I'd have to spent time digging through them to locate them, as I'd rather not go through the trouble of creating them from hardsaves.

Written in step form(this is going to look very different):

1. Ensure that the tso2pmd Proportions folder has no files in it other than the 3 AAA_[name].cs files, which it requires to run
2. Copy all .cs files from your TMOProportion folder into your tso2pmd Proportion folder

>Didn't you just tell me not to delete those?
Don't worry about that line anymore. See >>6477676

But no, I'm not sure if you could get this from what I wrote, but I meant

"I believe you need to delete the settings for the 3 AAA_[name].cs files written inside of the TPOConfig file, , but I'm not sure."

I knew that tso2pmd writes out settings for the three files(as it does all files in the proportions folder), so I was worried that having those settings listed in TPOConfig may cause TMOProportion to malfunction if they weren't in its Proportions folder(which they can't be since they don't cause it to crash). I was too tired to test at the time, so I just wrote "I'm not sure".

MUCH better. In fact, that entire thing in step form would probably be 10x easier to follow. At least in my opinion, a list is almost always easier than a paragraph (a paragraph at the bottom to explain why what you just did worked, how it worked, etc. etc. is always fine of course).

i understand what you are talking about; in my case it was more or less an intuitive understanding(although i'm not too sure i have a good eye for judging it), but we're definitely thinking of the same thing. the difference between a very well shaded mod and a two-tone is fairly evident, and i'll be using it as criteria for mods i select for any packs we create here.

you can have as much time as you think it takes, but that sounds a little odd to me.

to create what i'm asking for, all you should have to do is load a blank hardsave, click on a garment that you want to share, hardsave it, and post. even if you can only make a few, that would be good for now.

so long as it's a japanese mod, i should be able to find it on the 3DCGMRS or other sources just from that. are they mods you made yourself?

if i'm misunderstanding something about the way you want to select the mods or your process of doing so, take as much time as you need.

and yes, you're right.

I was hoping to at least get 2 or so other people posting short descriptions for the mods they install. I know there was at least one other person who said they were willing to.

I really don't think we're looking at 300+ hours here... In the first place, that's not really a meaningful figure for the process I'm talking about(explained below), but I'd like to ask where you got the figure 10,000 from.

And consider that it -does not- take 2 minutes of your time to write down a short description for a mod you were going to test out anyways. The only thing that's changed, in that case, is the fact that you wrote a description.

Ex. you search for a Reimu mod. You were searching for it and going to install and check it anyways, right?

Literally, the only time that you can say you spent documenting it would be the time it took you to ctrl+f the mod catalog(to see if it's already documented), write

[File name] Reimu outfit

and post on 4chan. This isn't hard or time consuming(although getting it all done will be a matter of time).

Although I admit it's a bit of a disruption if you're trying to get off.

>> No.6480325

>>6480293
And if I sound up in arms about this, it's because I'm trying to get the simplicity across very hard. The actual process(beyond what you would normally do) usually takes a maximum of 30 seconds(time to check catalog+think up and compose sentence with key words).

I don't really expect anyone to spend as much time as I do(even though this is touted as the NEETest board on 4chan) or to start contributing immediately, but maybe after we see some progress in the catalog more people will be interested.

If you *really* want the math I can provide it, but it would be an utterly pointless exercise as we're both in agreement that the mods should be cataloged in English - which is the base issue. (If that reads as condescending or rude I apologize, it was not intended that way.)

Version 2 of the installation pack is just about done also. No huge changes, really just the removal of the unneeded sp files (looks like they really don't do anything after XP is installed) and some rewording. Nothing you couldn't easily edit the original .rar to reflect if you've downloaded it.

v1.0 of the mod pack will wait until the next thread I guess, to see if it gets any feedback.

Forgot my question.

Part of my reasoning for putting the gravure mod, toonshader2 and the Korbo save in the install pack, but leaving them in their original forms (zipped XPCs, save for the Horo save) in the "Additional Files" folder as opposed to extracting them and placing them in the "Required Files" folder myself was that people new to the game learn the installation method for both. I figure if they're going to run into trouble it might as well be at install using a pack we're familiar with and know works for easiest troubleshooting - and if they do get it the same method will apply to everything else.

Was that a good idea? Or should I just put everything into one folder, ready to go, and be done with it?

>> No.6480388

>>6480369
Okay, I was just curious if you got it from something simpler than that.

That is quite a number, but my intent was never to run at like an assignment, but to post things as they're installed and get it done over time. Of course, if no one else helps, then I'm probably wasting my time, as my progress alone vs uploaders+bloggers will probably be minimal.

I don't see any problem with it. Leave it as is.

I don't know if I want posts by people who can't get mods to work because they don't read the readme and thus don't install toonshader or something like that, though.

the mouth is modified by the selectable bones under the eyes in the field above the tongue. the ones most directly above the ones you have selected there.

moving them works better than twisting them, by the way.

if you've tried manipulating every bone on that page and it doesn't work, it -could- be the body, but i've never heard of something like that.

Something's wrong, but I don't know if it's how you're doing it or if its the wiki. I can search by parent page titles only, and if I get the parent name exactly it will find it... otherwise no go.

I just tried sandboxing with a custom search script but I don't seem to be able to directly edit the wiki html - so I guess we need to look into modifying the wiki search function (or at least figuring out how it works).

Honestly, "has stopped working" can be a whole lot of things. If it were directx you'd be getting a more specific error from the game executable in all likelihood.

I can start running through a list of common fixes for jap programs, but no guarantees...

-make sure Jap language pack is installed and localization is set to Japan

and

-run "sfc /scannow" (without quotes) from the command prompt
-run "chkdsk /r /f" (without quotes) from the command prompt

If you're up for it, try the first. If that doesn't work, try the second. If it still wont go, say so and we can keep going. (Or maybe someone familiar with your specific problem will attempt it.)

I can tell you that I just tried it on my Win7x64 VM, which is a fresh install save for updates, directx, .net, east asian languages, etc. etc. - and it worked flawlessly.

i'm not sure exactly how notification you're talking about is appearing, but unless it completely disables you from installing it, you should install it anyways.

i solved a problem like that once in the past after i had bought my computer(this year). perhaps there was something wrong with my analysis of the situation, but i don't think it can hurt.

to be precise, my directx version already read as directx 11, and installing 9.0c despite this worked.

----

Installation:
-Download "3D Custom Girl.iso" from the included "Tech Arts 3D ™.torrent" torrent, mount and install.
-Copy everything in the "Required Files" directory to your chosen installation directory (default "%Program Files%\TechArts3D\3Dカスタム少女") replacing any file that already exists.

Additionally: OPTIONAL
-4 files have been included in the "Additional Files" folder which are required for several user modifications and saves to work properly. These include:
-ToonShader2 - toonshader2.rar - common shading mod
-Gravure - TAC1554.zip & TAC1574.zip - allows "motion" files to be used

-horo.tdcgsav.png - Horo hard save - because Horo

Mods:
-Mods (.tah files) are to be placed in your installation directories "arcs" folder (default "%Program Files%\TechArts3D\3Dカスタム少女\arcs").
-Note that you may create additional folders in your "arcs" folder and place the mods inside those for organization.

Saves & Poses:
-Saves (.png files) are to be placed in your "%My Documents%\TechArts3D\TDCG" folder.
-Poses (.png files) are to be placed in your "%My Documents%\TechArts3D\TDCG\Poses" folder.

Troubleshooting:

-The default skins, which have red patches covering the crotch area instead of an actual pussy texture, were NOT removed. Additional skins were added that do have the pussy texture and various pubic hair options. After clicking on the skin you wish to use you'll notice a new bar has appeared towards the lower left of the screen, above the "Save", "Del", etc. options. This bar contains variations of the skin you chose - in this case the uncensored/pubic hair variations.

Errata:
-Note that:
-"Required Files/arcs/uncensor.tah" &
-"Required Files/arcs/auto_english.tah"
are not actually required. "uncensor.tah" contains all of the default skins with pussy textures and various pubic hair options (the originals just have red patches covering the crotch area, as the game displayed a mosaic over the crotch anyway) - and auto-english.tah contains an English version of the help menu. "uncensor.tah" CAN be removed and replaced with your choice of skin mod (or not, if you only get off on red patches) with no ill effects, as can "auto-english.tah" be removed if you would prefer the Japanese help menu.

Even with the login/pass provided in one of the previous threads, it still redirects you to the same page. At least one person that posted in the old thread knows how to login, but nobody else does.

>So what I'm gathering from all of this is that like usual, the Japanese can't program for shit and I'm better off not even trying?
I don't know about that. This game has improved my fapping experience by quite a bit for a long time now. It's probably worth it to get it working if you like/can handle the art style and have time to blow.

you may simply be trying to get into one of their old boards. i don't think anyone can do that, since when they change the url they become inaccesible.

those are just the japanese uploaders and the 3ch boards.

also, you have to set your browser settings to japanese. if you don't know how to do that, try installing japanese firefox(you can have multiple installs at once).

>>6486492

Thanks, but it was a fresh install. I deleted it and the game still won't start. I'm going to try reinstalling on a different hard drive, restarting my computer, defragging, restarting again, and then running it. I don't have high hopes but you never know.

This game is excellent for that, regardless of what level or kind of size fetishist you are. Learning to use MMD makes it significantly better, since there's much more freedom with the stage in MMD.

That being said, there are no specific mods for it other than maybe toonshader; you just have to know how to use TMOProportion. There is a section written on it in the wiki, and changing a character's size is one of the easiest things to do.

>>6486493

I can't say that's really an accurate way to judge. People don't generally post "Hey, it worked." They post when they're having problems. Reading any products forums would make you think it was the worst thing out there.

Also, >>6486492
I was hoping to hear from you specifically on:
>>6486273

I know there's probably much better out there. Once that's replaced with a better version (or not?) I'll go ahead and upload the v2 of the install package.

>>6486515
i can't quite tell what step your installation is failing at, but if it's at a step where you put toonshader into your arcs directory, then it's also possible that your graphics card is not compliant with toonshader. you should check that out before you put in too much more effort(i'm not sure if it's just a matter of graphics power).

in fact, if nothing else has worked and you've done everything correctly, the above is the most likely issue.

if this is the problem, your only choice is to get another graphics card or not use toonshader(which will limit your options).

Out of curiosity, do you have access to to a Windows XP disc? If so, try installing it using VMWARE on your Win7 machine and see if that works.

That's how I'm doing it anyway. (I never tried it on my base win7 install, but it's fine in the VM.) Also, you do have at least 128megs vram right?

It's the .exe that's causing the problem. I was able to put everything into my folders and the game ran just fine, but as soon as I swapped .exe's I got the error again.

Is there a less recent .exe I could use? I can deal with a few crashes here and there, I just want to play the fucking game uncensored.

You can try searching for the 4.0 uncensored .exe.

If you want to revert to version 3 you'll have to delete the ~xp3.tah file and get a version 3 uncensored.exe, etc. etc.

this is not the original hair color. i don't have it on my system right now.

if this hair color bothers you, please find the mod and download it using tdcgexplorer and 3DCGMRS. this is explained thoroughly both in old threads and on the wiki.

>>6486530
i am going to show my ignorance/lack of stable knowledge here.

isn't the uncensor mod just a mod to remove a mosaic set by the game? "good" and "bad" uncensor mods are usually just different bodies, so the solution is more body mods if i'm not mistaken.

i believe the くぱぁ or くぱ body mods have good pussy designs, but i think judgment this kind of thing varies wildly from person to person so i'm hesitant to recommend much.

please don't post the password...

i know people don't like doing anything in terms of politeness towards the japanese, but this is important because they WILL change the password and url of their uploader/site if they find out it has been distributed openly.

there's really nothing that can be done about it now since deleted posts show up on easymodo... there needs to be a warning about this in the OP or something.

I was calling it the wrong thing perhaps, the idea is I'm looking for a (better) mod that will add pussy textures to all the default, but only the default bodies. No more bodies or anything like that, just adding to the default ones.

I don't care if it overwrites the default body and replaces it with one with a pussy texture, or if it adds the pussy textured versions into variations like this one - but it would be preferable if it had pubic hair/no pubic hair options. Also, I'm sorry - but I don't even have Jap language support on this system. I can wait until tomorrow and try what you wrote there, or if you'd have an idea of a specific mod# I could get the release out tonight.

for the hud, try the home key on the numpad(may need to disable/enable numlock).

for outlines, they depend on the body you're using; some bodies have thick lines, others have none, some are different colors, etc. i don't know of any that change them game-wide.

yes... that was a little unfortunate. chances are, that thread will be long gone/not need to be linked to by the time we're big enough to be noticed by the japanese.

just try to refrain from posting it. posting their hint is okay(excite translation of おれのよめ), or probably a hint of your own making, but don't post the password explicitly.

something tells me it's useless trying to prevent it from happening, though.

also, it seems we're well overdue for a new thread. any changes to the template that i'm forgetting?

3DCG thread. Post saves, links to mods, discuss modding, post pics of your waifu being violated, etc.
What 3DCG is: 3d custom girl, a program for creating a character and posing it. Has a light, sort of subpar sex sim. Using MMD(mikumikudance) you can create your own animations as well.

DISCLAIMER: Consider all mods and hardsaves in this thread to be of Japanese origin unless stated otherwise. The original modder is rarely known, however.

Please avoid posting the full URL when linking to Japanese uploaders or files in uploaders. Typical custom on Japanese boards is to remove the "h" in "http://"(as shown above). Also, avoid directly posting the password to the 3ch site; if they find it is distributed openly, they will change it(and possibly the url, apparently). Posting hints is apparently acceptable, as they do this themselves.

hints and personal communication are both alternatives.

i visit the uploader every day. i have no idea how long it takes for them to distribute a new hint after they change it once. i don't even know how i would locate their new url if they changed that.

furthermore, if they find out foreigners just distribute it whenever the fuck they feel like it(they even follow the rule of not distributing it), it's far from unlikely that they would ip ban us.

i'm not saying you can't tell people the password. i'm just requesting that you don't post the actual verbatim password in the open on this thread.

I know it's not toonshader (works when I use the basic .exe), and deleting the the sav does nothing. It seems to be the .exe that's causing problems, for whatever reason, but I can't seem to fix it for the life of me.

This is what the "uncensor.tah" has now, the highlighted variations are all part of the same .tah - first one is shaved, the rest are different color variations for pubic hair ("real" colors to things like pink, so there's a bit of range)

well, to be fair, you were proposing simply disregarding their rule and just finding it the site and pw again if it changed. stuff like that doesn't help.

i honestly don't care about that too much as long as we don't get blocked/have them change URLs and whatnot garbage.

but in this case, i believe their passwording of the site has something more to do with spam attacks or something like that. perhaps they don't have as good of a server as the techarts and futaba uploaders.
