Hey weeaboos.

Are there any other Jap shows like this?

Preferably not anime. I didn't like the few I tasted (bleach, gurren lagann, NGE).

>> No.6473032

Those are fucking horrible anime series by the way.

>> No.6473039

>>6473032
I wouldn't mind a suggestion then. But it has to be in the thematic vicinity of Densha Otoko, and not for kids.

I wish I could give you a good suggestion, I'm not well acquainted with live dramas and the like.

Gurren Lagann is a poor mans imitation of the golden days of awesome mecha, and it's easy to understand why people could hate NGE, what with the sheer amount of navel gazing.

I don't think I need to mention why bleach is horseshit.

That's like playing coowadooty and battletoads then says all videogames are shit.

TTGL doesn't imitate shit, it pays homage. I still didn't like it very much, and it has a horrible ending, but by no means it's horrible. Even though everything that TTGL tried to do, Diebuster did better before, so I don't know why Gainax even bothered.
OP, if you want to try a different kind of anime, go watch Honey & Clover, it's much more down to earth - it pretty much could've been a drama instead of an anime, and it's great.

Seconding this, lots of Akiba/otaku lifestyle references that'll make you laugh your ass off.

Yes it does. And?
I was referring specifically to the anime series in hopes of getting OP to watch it and change his opinion about anime.
Go back to whatever shithole you crawled out of, and take your greentexting and "hurr durr" bullshit with you, please - we don't need it on /jp/.

Honestly, I tried watching the first episode, and fuck, the girl's cute but her acting was horrible.
But it wouldn't probably be that annoying had I not read the manga beforehand, I guess.

We are talking about JDrama here.. of course the acting was horrible, I have never seen a jdrama that was not completely over acted. I still liked gokusen though.

Ohhhh...now I remember her. Heh. Gokusen was a good show, got bored of it during the 3rd season though. It was overdone at that point.

Are there any other good drames with Nakama Yukie in them?

I am assuming you are mostly interested in romance dramas:

There's a Nodame Cantabile drama.
Only seen the first episode so far, but it seemed quite nice.
The anime is great.

that's just because the main characters likes listening to classic music. They aren't really using those as background pieces.

If you feel like watching standard (in other words shit tier) harem done in 3D:

OP here. Thanks for the suggestions. You guys are alright.

May I inquire if there is a dedicated torrent site for all these shows you're recommending?

Also, I noticed a lot of sage in this thread. Is this a common /jp/ thing to control thread position, or do you not like the subject?

/jp/ has always been sage city. Don't pay any mind to it. They use sage differently compared to other boards.

>> No.6473520

>>6473478
http://www.d-addicts.com/forum/torrents.php

Since /jp/ is slow, if the thread is on the first page some people often sage not to bring it on top unnecessarily. Sage is also used if you're not contributing anything worthwhile to the thread with your post, or when your post is unrelated to the board(like, say, discussing anime here instead of on /a/)
J-drama is an accepted topic on /jp/, though.

As far as drama go, I quite enjoyed My Boss My Hero. I've only seen 2-3 drama overall, so I can't really offer much else.
