Get everyone to 10 hearts, do all their quests, make sure you're well-leveled for final dungeon (70+ preferably, 80+ is the best) and that you have good gear. Backup that save before giving the ring.

For those using an actual DS like me, check the right room in the right ladder from your room. You get prizes every 2000 score your game has when you update rankings (even when it fails) via wi-fi. Just save, reset and load if needed since you can only update the rankings if they change (I think). So far, got some stat ups, love potions, piles of cooking breads, equipment, etc.

So, how is this compared to regular Harvest Moon? I couldn't get into RF1 or 2 because the combat just completely overshadowed the farming stuff and it was too slow and easy to be interesting to me. The last I played was Sunshine Islands, which was okay, I guess, but its later game was just retardedly grindy, even for HM. After about a year and a half, everything cost literally an entire year's worth of farm + mine profits. Also, compared to IoH, anything would look good. I couldn't get rid of that particular pile of shit fast enough.

Well, this takes everything good about the first two Rune Factories, and all past Harvest Moon games, and clumps them into one bundle of joy.

The combat has been improved so much it might as well be a different game, and that's not a bad thing. Smooth and fast as fuck and now there's a hard mode if you feel it's too easy. Not just that, everything is very fast and intuitive. I could just farm forever in this game, shit is awesome.

Sometimes when I level up, it said 'Rune Factory 3' and some characters have too different text than what they said in Japanese (for exp; Sherman says something, but his voice is that of a girl and Raven said 'Goshujin-sama' but the text translate differently). I downloaded the undub I found from google.
