If you want money quickly, as soon as you can tame monsters grab a few cows in the summer dungeon, and then a few bees in the fall dungeon. Honey and Milk, once leveled up, net the best profits.

Most polished by far, gameplay wise. Plenty of likeable heroines, NPC bros that help you with fightan, lots of things to do.
It's just plain fun, I played it overnight more than once because it's so addicting.

buy the focus lens, it'll tell you information about the soil. As far as I know you avoid it by rotating your crops and letting the soil "rest" once in a while.

If you overwrote the sound file from the Jap version into the English version, some of the sound files will mismatch. Ie. you will get sounds that are not supposed to be played/not coherent with the text.

I'd say most of the lines work correctly, though.

Hopefully someone will edit the data with a hex editor and fix it soon.

Double dagger has been making fights pretty easy for me right now, but if attacks become hard to dodge later on, I might end up swapping out for sword and board.

Simple undub will be hard to get, since Natsume screwed with the script. It's not really immersing to hear "runn fakutori sri!" whenever you attack a woolie.

Tested and compared the undub to the dub; the dub is alright. Most characters sound natural with few exceptions:
Shara, Sakuya, Daria are kinda squeaky but still tolerable. You just can't beat Yui Horie (for the latter).
Somehow it feels like Raven/Evelyn/Karina use the same voice actress, which is too deep and grown up for former two heroines, but fitting for Karina since her character is supposed to be annoying/lazy all time.
Rusk's voice makes him sound like an arrogant brat. Blaise's kinda robotic.

On the good side, Pia's childish/squeaky is fitting because she's an airhead. Colette/Carmen/Marian/Sofia is perfectly natural. Carlos/Gaius is perfect. Mice sounds masculine at the intro, but all his other voice files are rather feminine like in the original.

Getting a real undub is troublesome, but it's safe to say that the quality of the dub is passable even for hardcore weeaboos.

Here's the simplest steps. Mind you it causes a lot of fuck ups which those guys are fixing currently.

How to undub this game:

1. Acquire both Japanese and US versions of the rom.
2. Uncompress both ROM images using a program such as DSBuff.
3. In the Japanese version's folder, look for a file called "sound_data.sdat". Copy this file and paste it over the US version.
4. Repack US version.
5. Enjoy.

yes, but harder things have a higher failure rate.
You can't keep crafting forever things that have 10% success rate and grind levels that way because it consumes your stamina, so you have to find a balance.

I wish there was an easier way to grind forging, I want my fourth tier tools and better weapons for final dungeon.

One thing I never got about Harvest Moon/Rune Factory games in general: if it revolves around daily living, farming and 1,000 different kinds of food, why is there no Hunger system?

Oh boy dragon boss is really hard. Zaid is totally useless for charging alone, and soloing with hammer/axe is hard.

What weapon is everyone using? I used hammers at first, that spinning swing was pretty awesome. Then I switched to Longswords when I realized how awesome their abilities are. Anyone try Dual Blades seriously yet?

Using spear here, the spinning attack you get at Spear lv20 is good, stunlocks normal enemies, you don't chase em all over the screen since it's stationary and bosses don't usually move that much so they get hit with full force (plus invulnerability, abuse it).

Hard to do if you're surrounded though, so I got the sweep rune ability to push enemies back.

TIP FOR MAKING MONEY: WITHERED GRASS, MOTHERFUCKER.

Seriously, that thing acts like steroids for your soil. Put it on top of soil, and then use your hoe on it. That soil is now packing some serious nutrients. Anything you plant in it will grow faster and be of higher quality.

Don't bother harvesting with the scythe for better seeds, just used withered grass. If you ship higher quality crops, you can buy higher quality seeds for the same price as a level 1 seed which gets you more money.

You can get withered grass by not giving a crop/flower any water when it goes brown, so just buy a bunch of cheap seeds and let 'em die to get withered grass.

I love the desert tune. Reminds me of Touhou music.

Are you sure it's a tool? There's weapon axes and tool axes, even if both chop logs with the first few swings you want the latter for havey field work.

You have to raise their level. It goes higher automatically, but if you don't want to wait you can take them out fighting with you.
