Ixrec mentioned having that problem but couldn't get it to happen after after reloading his save. I also tried to reproduce it but had no luck so I just ignored it. Since you posted I decided to look at it again and finally found the problem.

Overwrite the mlhookv2.rpo in the Plugins folder of your Muv-Luv Alternative installation folder with this one and it should fix the problem. I would recommend anyone who has not reached chapter 6 yet to update as well. I've reuploaded mla-r1.exe on the website so it now includes this fix.

As far was we can tell, it was the Americans who instigated the coup and intentionally escalated it to violence. So the Americans caused a huge distraction in the middle of a larger war for their own purposes, and both used and were used by Sagiri.

All the conflicts, both within and between countries, were driven by people of conviction, and this contrast is the point.

What we're left with at the end of the arc isn't a man who has discovered the "right" way, in fact Takeru still seems conflicted. Instead, he has gained the conviction to, like the Major and Sagiri, fight for his ideal despite his uncertainty. Even if it involves trampling on the ideals of others, and even if he can sympathize with them.

The authors are (with arguable success) trying to make a larger point about the nature of war.

Did you follow the readme? If you mounted it with anything other than Daemon Tools then you run the chance of having the data be corrupt. If the patch installer warns that something is wrong then it means that a key part of the data on the disc did not match what was expected.

Just downloading a short storyish thing off PD, MuvLuv Alternative Another Story. It's completely in Japanese and seems to tell a bit of Marimo's past. I can upload it to MF/MU/whatever if anyone wants. It's also extremely short.

But about Takeru, I think he's a great protagonist. He's realistic, and his growth from a spoiled retarded brat is really well done. But if you were expecting something like Rance or some shit, then oh boy.

I find it pretty funny that Extra Yuuko could tell that Takeru wasn't the right one nearly instantly despite knowing him for a year or two at most, where as Sumika couldn't tell at all despite knowing him for nearly her entire life.
