First of all, it looks like you don't know what a strawman argument is.
It seems that everytime one brings out how beatiful is Sakura's love is despite all her hardships they all go "lawl worms" "whore and bitches" etc etc, which only seem related but really has nothing to do with it, but you still use it to make a point which in the end makes no sense, that's a strawman argument for you.

And I didn't say there's no romance in the other routes, I said it's shit, Fate's romance is ridiculous, as if gender bent Arthur wasn't hard to accept all by itself this Arthur is also a tender girl who admires how the useless Shirou costantly tells her, the warrior who united Britain and led entire armies, to get back in the kitchen. And she falls for him, because Britain sure lacked heroes that sacrified everything for their kingdom and its people, no she falls for Shirou.
Then there's Rin's romance which, surprise, falls for Shirou for the same reason Sakura falls for him, only she does NOTHING to follow those feelings but still expect Shirou to somehow care for her and her route is all about tsuntsuntsuntsuntsun, Rin is the worst thing of UBW and that "romance" feels like something added just to please fans. And yet you thing Rin's route is better than Sakura's.

I thought the romance was pretty bad in every routes.

I liked HF more than UBW. I thought Archer coming back at the end of UBW was more stupid than anything in HF, but I don't know anything so feel free to disregard.

Well, UBW to me was more of a love triangle, and the one route where the heroine really didn't need to pair off with Shirou. The route was more about Archer and Shirou than the romance. Which is why the H scene in the original game was so out of place.

Then there's the fact that Rin had feelings for both Shirou and her Servant, and wanted to save both of them. This is why she took Shirou out on the date. It seems she already had inklings that Shirou could turn out like Archer, especially when she tells Shirou, "You're just like him . . ." when pissed off about his utter selflessness. Then after Archer had betrayed her to Caster she still wanted to get him back.

Hell, even after him kidnapping her, tying her up, and leaving her for Shinji (I think Archer thought that Saber was going to save her Master or he knew of Lancer's awesome Broness) she still was wanting to get revenge for Gil "killing him" (even though we know he wasn't quite dead). And after EVERYTHING she tries to make a contract with him to save him.

Also, their goodbye was more of a tragic romantic moment than it could have been anything else. Yet Archer ended it with a moment of hope and made Rin promise that version of Emiya Shirou not turn out like him.

And pic is how Heaven's Feel should have been damn it. Dark Archer would have kicked some serious ass. Sure, Saber's a goddamn power house, but Archer's the Goddamn Batman of the Servants.

If you take away the sex in all three routes and replace them with something else plausible the routes don't lose their point.

Maybe Saber can recharge her mana another way, that isn't cgi dragon. Maybe Rin can give Shirou power some other way. Maybe Sakura can not be such a slut.

The experiences of Archer in UBW are in the end more or less reduced to nothingness.

Sure, the experience is archived, but even if the events had a likelyhood close to nothing, he should have already experienced it an infinite number of times over as he exists outside of time and is summoned into anywhere in time, over and over again for eternity.

And no matter the times he went through the events of UBW, the memories of it would still never be more than just an insignificant part of all the archives combined due to the likelyhood of it happening being close to 0.
That is, it has happened, and have been recorded, infinite times over. But these infinite times it have happened still looks like nothing compared to the infinity of everything else recorded.

And in the end, the archives also kind of blurs together.
So in the end Archer is forced to fight to save people for eternity, by using methods he never wanted and sacrificing people to save them, repatidly again and again for all eternity even though he found the method to be unacceptable, but that is the end he arrived at.

Actually, while that is obviously true, FSN is somewhat different than your average eroge because the routes are supposed to follow an overall development. There's a reason they aren't unlocked at the beginning, and the game pretty much enforces the play order.

This is why the Caster route is the best route

How do you not realize why whining about Sakura in a route that is about her is retarded if you don't like her?

And the answer to my question is that each girl gets their own route.

I have a theory, and it actually showed just how *not* hopeless HF actually was and how utterly needless Mind of Steel was:

Ilya is able to move souls, so it is a viable option had more relaxed minds thought of it. Ilya herself would have known what to do as well, and she was practically the most neutral party there. Ilya had several ways to end this without killing Sakura and making sure there were no more victims. Remember that dead end? She has exhibited powers that enable her to have some control over souls, since she was able to keep Shirou alive with just a head like in the first bad end. Rin performs freaking neurosurgery on Shinji while under duress in UBW. There was just flagrant irresponsibility here on the part of the people with superior abilities, so I do not blame Shirou for being hesitant to just off her. Mind you, this is not talking about her using the same Third as she did on Shirou in HF True. My "doll plan" only required her to be able to move souls, and she can do that easily.

It could have ended with Shirou having his true dream of cooking in the kitchen with Ilya, Rin, and Sakura. Hell I think Ilya was cognizant of the Shadow's identity even before Saber was killed, and knew Shirou liked her(remember the one you get for lack of Ilya points and she meets him at home, crushing Saber, and soul drains him to use him against Sakura). Basically, Ilya screwed 'herself and everyone else' out of the ultimate happy end.
