i'm surprised the japanese don't play this game... god knows the NEETs over there have enough time to be good at it.

i guess they know they can't beat korea at it, so they stick to fighting games.

i'm more or less talking about the type that go to fighting games...

>>6404209
compared to korea? yeah, it pretty much boils down to that. although in seriousness, for the fighting game community, "amateur" would be a better word.

Note that, unlike Starcraft, some of those fighting games are actually good.

They know, but they can't run it.
Only Zun's shitty games with low reqs are acceptable in Japan.

Starcraft = GOD tier game. You must be brain dead if you hate it. Well, you're into fightings, so you definitely are.

more like japs have their own kind of games to play. I've never heard of a japanese person playing FPS/RTS

i'd heard of one pro japanese bw player.

and with a game with as much competition and potential reward as starcraft(in terms of # tournaments and prize money--most arcade fighting game tournaments in japan have garbage prizes, obviously excluding tougeki), it's difficult to believe the reason would simply be "they have their own games to play."

i really wouldn't be that surprised if korea's strength at the game was one of the reasons. not only is it korea, but no one in their right mind would bother trying to actually beat a community whose players are paid to play the game day in, day out.
