Japanese food is not all about sushi and sashimi you know. They do have their katsus, udons, yakis, and other non-seafood stuff, many with lots of seasoning and not requiring an appreciation of raw, cold seafood to eat.

It's actually lamprey, not eel. Well, it's actually eel (or oarfish), not lamprey, but it's supposed to be lamprey, only lamprey is hard to get in Gensokyo. Lamprey has eight "eyes" and is supposedly good for your eyesight. People who come to Mystia's stand tend to have a bad eyesight for some reason.

I never said I didn't like Escargot. I'm one of the few people in the family who likes the stuff. They apparently can't stand skewering the slug out of the shell with a toothpick, and they won't believe me when I say it's good stuff.

But saying that all French cuisine was created for the ruling class is a statement that doesn't take into account the bigger picture. Cuisine is almost never that simple.
