The only thing in the game you can not get without paying real money is safe improvements, and possibly some limited edition holiday costumes/items.
I've been playing the game since last November, I have a character with 7 rare avatars (1 from a full set) and I spent 5 dollars total, just to upgrade my safe.

The 5 dollars were spent on a safe to hold stuff. Back when I started there was no auction house. Instead I just stored stuff.
When the auction house came out I made a large amount of money on said backlog. Millions and millions.
In perspective you can get most normal avatars for 200-300k, adv for 300-900k, but rares tend to be 6-20m. And for even more perspective, a level 50-60 character earns 150-300k a day in basic drops.
Run dungeons, rely on quest items and drops to fill in your gear, sell your other drops, buy avatars. If you you get lucky you can find singular items that can buy you entire outfits.
The DFO economy runs on mostly one thing: Obsessive pvpers who break dozens of items trying to gain an advantage to boost their ego in pvp. They tend to buy gold or buy avatars to sell for gold, and use the gold to try to get advantages with gear, frequently breaking items.
As long as you don't become one you'll end up with everything you could want.

Benders are massive magic damage, ghosts are top-tier debuffs.

Elementalists are nukers, as you would expect.

Nen Master can electrocute mobs, causing them to take additional damage for each hit for the next few seconds. They can also make a shield bubble in the field which makes every party member inside it invincible for a short time. Their buffs are second only to Crusader.

Are elementalist a good choice if I want to mostly small group farm(if that's even possible) and PVP mostly? I pretty much love juking my enemies and tricking them.

Maximizing skills is imperative in not being a piece of shit after level 40.
For elementalist I suggest fire/ice, dark/ice, dark/light, dark/fire. Fire and dark are the two primary attack/dps trees, ice is support/defense oriented, and light is really only for PVE, but it is CRAZY good in PVE with the black hole + lightning strike combos.
With that said, do what you want. Just whatever you do, max your primary attacks. You do not want to be one of those pathetic players who can't even do enough damage to beat boss health regen.

Battle mages are my least liked, well let's be honest, most hated class in the entire game.
I hate grouping with them, and I hate seeing them in PVP.
They're just so aesthetically displeasing, and they flat out ruins groups by flinging mobs in a hundred directions.
So, sorry, I can't really offer any build insight.

Frosty Head and Pluto max for a dark/ice pvp build. Then you'll want to pick up high to max ice wall for defence and shoving things off you, it also improves your groupability.
The tough part of the build is if you max the metaskills or if you simply get more attacks.
Elemental burn is the best buff in the game, but super hard to keep up. Magic crits are also fantastic on an ele. Memorize is a must, magic festival is amazing in pvp as well. And of course there are the mastery skills, which are unbelievably good for disciplined builds that focus on 1-2 elements.

Battle mage should focus on requisites for their high level skills, except chaser press.

From what I hear, chaser press isn't all that good, so most lvl 60 builds omit it. Builds with the 70 cap include it because of the spare SP by then, however.

Dragon spear is something you want to save up for and max. As for your chasers, you will want to build that somewhat like an elementalist. Light and fire chasers are the most commonly maxed because they buff the battle mage with attack speed and strength.

At low levels, it pays to be cautious with SP and only spend towards requisites.

Don't roll a battle mage if you dont want to be forever alone.

Dunno what you're all saying, Battlemages arent HORRIBLE in PvE. Maybe just a little bit, but only when the dungeon has little to no enemies in them. When the room is crowded with enemies, battlemages just herd them all into one corner with GDS and proceed to keep them there.

Witch? Really? She's almost 100% set damage so farming is pretty damn easy. The only problem I have with witch is having to pay 600 SP for enhanced magic missile and 600 for swatter. Every class has been buffed a bit, and gets good free gear every 5 or so levels. Gunners may still be the "easiest", I don't know, but all classes are pretty damn easy at first now.

Market has gotten so fucked up in the last year. You used to be able to buy shit you needed until level 60 off of your spare change just grinding. Nowadays one good weapon costs you more money that you could have made up to that level even if you SSS'd everything on all 4 difficulties solo.

Make a mechanic. Female mechanics are better than males in PvE, but male mechanics are still good. They don't need a ridiculously high level weapon to PvE. Launchers are ok because they are fixed, but they eat mana like dicks. Rangers need a good weapon. Spitfires not so much, but they still suck outside of Neil.

There isn't much healing, and healing isn't really necessary.
If people are getting wrecked by nonbosses then they're playing wrong.
During bosses people tend to get wrecked FAST, before healing will make a big difference.
Only crusaders can heal.
However Nen Masters can put up nen guard, which is a protective shield that provides invulnerability to all inside of it until it is broken. This is infinitely more useful than the crusader healing because your whole team can stand inside of it and RAPE some bosses in invulnerability.
Later on in 2nd impact the bubble can heal players inside of it.

Crusaders give amazing buffs, increasing party damage tremendously and offering some heals/mp heals. Crusaders tend to not fight well at all while supporting.
Nen Masters give great buffs, but can't buff casters well at all, and provide invulnerability and strong defensive buffs. Nen masters fight okay while supporting, offering okay ranged damage and some neat tricks. But they're hard to build optimally.
Soul benders provide buff/debuff circles of questionable usefulness, but are competent fighters on their own. I do not recommend soul bender for someone seeking support.

If you have any skill at all and can play worth a damn go with Nen.
If you just want to watch people kill and cast buffs/heals, pick Crusader.

Only Crusaders have heals. I don't play a Crusader, so I don't know if people actually max their heals over buffs. Crusaders and Nens both buff. Nens provide other cool stuff though, like Nen Guard which can protect the party from damage. Soul Benders are more debuff support, and they have an AoE freeze which is just awesome. I forgot to mention Grapplers, as they can be considered support. They're useful for keeping enemies/bosses in place with their grabs while your party beats on them. I think a few other classes can be considered "support," but those should be the main top ones.

The best advice I can give to you is to accept the fatigue limit.

At lower levels it will frustrate you because you want to play more but as much as I hate to say it, it really is the best way to prevent yourself from getting to addicted.

That's it. I'm sick of all this "Masterwork O'Neill Colony" bullshit that's going on in the d20 system right now. Babylon 5 deserves much better than that. Much, much better than that.
I should know what I'm talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine Babylon station in Epsilon Eridani for 2,400,000,000,000,000 credits (that's about $2 quintillion) and have been practicing with it for almost 3 years now. I can even cut Centauri battlecruisers with my defense grid.
Human construction crews spend years working on a single Babylon station and rebuild it up to four times to produce the finest space stations known to mankind.
Babylon stations are thrice as advanced as normal O'Neill colonies and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a normal energy weapon can cut through, a Babylon station's defense grid can cut through better. I'm pretty sure Babylon 5 could easily bisect a Shadow vessel with a simple vertical slash.
Ever wonder why the Minbari never bothered conquering Earth? That's right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Humans and their Babylon Project of destruction. Even in the Shadow War, the Shadows and their allies targeted the Babylon stations first because their firepower was feared and respected.
So what am I saying? Babylon 5 is simply a dream given form, and thus, requires better stats in the d20 system. Here is the stat block I propose for Babylon 5:
Heavy Pulse Cannon, Attack +9, Damage 200+5d10, Critical 17-20, Range 9 Counts as Masterwork
Two quad-linked Particle Beams, Attack +6, Damage 80+4d10, Critical 17-20, Range 7 Counts as Masterwork
Eight Particle Beams, Attack +5, Damage 30+3d10, Critical 17-20, Range 5 Counts as Masterwork
Four Mk I Interceptors, Attack +9, Damage 50+5d10, Critical 17-20, Range 3, Rapid Fire Counts as Masterwork
Now that seems a lot more representative of the firepower of Babylon stations in real life, don't you think?

Wow, the new Rank system sucks. It was so in depth before, with Style, Technique and Speed. Now it's all around fucking combos, which basically means never leave an enemy with 1 hit's worth of HP left on them or enjoy your B rank.

Well, I was playing with a fighter, the stats were there. Without them, it was only combo. With my mage, I did a test, did an awful long run with only staff hit(I'm lvl 14 with a caster staff) and no skills, I got a sss rank. I'm pretty sure it's only combo.

It gets called a /v/ guild a lot, but it's really more of an irc guild. It has several members who don't go to /v/ or any part of 4chan, and people who don't use the irc and just joined cause they were friends of members. All the pure /v/ guilds died in a matter of weeks.

I'm sure the people of /jp/ would be welcome to join if they wanted, +30 to all stats and a 4% experience bonus, no more levelup token bonuses though since it's max level. I'm not really sure why some people around here don't like us, unless it's just one of the people who were banned trying to stir up trouble.
