While there have been plenty of nice things from the East, when you lump in ALL of Western music, as a whole, it shits down the throat of Eastern music. Deny this fact, and that is one of the very clear lines of crossing over from someone who simply appreciates some things from Japan, to dick-swallowing weeaboo. Lump in the achievements of all Western musicians of all time vs all Eastern ones, and it's not even comparable in magnitude how much better things from the West are. Don't try to dismiss it as normalfag shit just as an excuse to go listen to some more fucking Miku garbage without feeling guilty. You ought to feel guilty as fuck for having zero taste and that is a fact you cannot escape anywhere, not even here amongst our own brethren.

If you're actually from Japan/Korea etc, and grew up mostly knowing only Eastern music, then that's understandable, however, to grow up in the West where there is such great stuff that is so easily accessible and known ... to shun that, is inexcusable. You might as well talk speak in nothing but Aikido and Ken-sama copypastas if you seriously reject all Western music.

That rant being said, however, going back to the actual topic.. Touhou music is still quite good by itself, and so I don't listen to anything but the game soundtracks for it while playing. If I'm having trouble on a boss I sometimes mute all music actually since that sometimes helps me concentrate better. Less noise for your brain to sift through while you need to make quick decisions. It's the same reason I was always much shittier at Counter Strike if I was playing music.

You have failed to make yourself worthy of your hobbies. If I truly want to enjoy my fine eastern games and music, I listen to them exclusively, and shut any impurities away from myself, allowing me to experience only the most pure and complete experience possible. Additionally, I've taken the time to gain fluency in Japanese as well as Korean, as to further enjoy such things in the language they intended for.

I hate to break it to you, but none of you here are worthy of your hobbies unless you have taken the above steps. You are, at this point, eternally secondaries until you take the plunge. It's one of the reasons that I find 2ch better than this hole. It's just a purer experience.

Needless to say, I come here merely to post facts. Nothing more.

For me, a western music collection is nearly non-existant aside from some classical tracks like Gymnopédies. I assume it's the same for a large amount of posters here. If you find this truth unsettling, you may want to get out of /jp/.
