It's a cool place, run by chinese otaku that import them cheap and are very strict about being original and official figures. That's the joy of doing business with fellow fans, they love what they do, not the money it makes.

It's not really so much that Grif's prices are higher so much that Amiami is giving barely any discount on these (7%, wheras some of Alter's stuff is at like 17-30% off MSRP) . Because they are the only ones carrying Griffon's statues it seems, they are at liberty to charge whatever they want because they don't have to worry about undercutting the competition. At the same time they are probably aware of Griffon's very much hit-and-miss nature though and so they don't charge too much more than people will tolerate.

Painted Youmu display went up recently; she looks very soft.

Also, apparently they've already announced that the next one's Yuyuko, no prototype for it yet though.

Personally I'll probably pick up Youmu, but have never been a fan of the obese ghost .. yet feel kind of obligated to get her anyway just because they're such an integral pair, the same reason why I got nendoroid Remy since it wouldn't look right having the Flan nendo by itself.

I'm also not too happy with Max Factory now being approximately twice as slow as GSC with their Touhou releases. I'd want them to roughly coincide but I guess it can't be helped with their schedules planned out already.

Unlike everybody's supposedly horrible SAL experiences, I've used it dozens of times for years and never had a problem. Never even had crinkly boxes, or water damage, or the other multitude of weird-ass shit I've heard about. All in all I've probably saved hundreds by using cheap SAL.

It gets here not much slower than EMS too; my record was fucking 8 days. I had it sent to my PO box that time though, and so take took a day or two off the pickup because they didn't have to process it for delivery. I myself was quite surprised nonetheless, even though I'm used to SAL taking 9-11 days.

As for EMS/Fedex? Those take only 3 days to get to me, and I'm not using the crazy expensive 2 or 3-day services either. I guess I happen live right where all the cargo planes touch down (Bay Area, CA).

That being said though, it's only gotten much faster for me this year, last year I often had to wait between 2 and 3 weeks and by that time it starts to get me a bit more nervous day by day until it finally shows up. I think customs sped up whatever they were doing by a lot.

Oh btw, if you use RSAL the tracking number is literally of no use once it's outside of Japan in case you didn't know. You can't trace with it or anything. You only do RSAL for the insurance, which only goes up to a specific value of coverage. In which case, if you care that much about the item getting to you in one piece / are afraid of it breaking on SAL, then you should just EMS it anyway.

I ordered a Hitagi figure a while back because it was on special at HS. The order was shipped on the 19 of October, and it hasn't arrived. I know they said it can take anywhere between 2 weeks and 3 months to deliver, and I do live in Ausfalia so the shipping containers would take longer to fill, but this is slightly disconcerting.
