Honestly you guys need to work on your audio setup. Just go to /g/ and ask for some headphones.

Oh, and you honestly should only just look for SEB album volumes that end in 0. 50, 70, 140, etc, sans 10 and 20. Those are all megamixes and megamixes are the best way to listen to eurobeat.

Although Cherry's "yesterday" (yes it's >>6380064 here) has fairly simple and straighforward lyrics of nostalgia over lost love with some slight engrish.

^technically this is Initial D 4th season, but it was such a bullshit short clip of 20 seconds when this song deserved a lot more airtime. It pissed me off personally since they played the entirety of a shittier ABeatC song in that same episode.

But ultimately it depends on your tastes. Eurobeat songs can vary anywhere between the cutesy, catchy, more female vocals like Cherry to the harder edged, almost prog-rock male vocal stuff of Dave Rodgers.

I'd suggest finding other songs by the "artists" you like since they tend to keep a general style in each of their songs.

The japanese taste of eurobeat is becoming more, uncovered.

This is also another japanese DJ eurobeat artist.

Before, my generation grew up with eurobeat and para para, but now it is our life...

So, now many more Japanese artist DJ came up to make the eurobeat.

It is nice don't you think?

But, the Italian eurobeat artist is still... king. Dave Rodgers is still famous because his influnce, so he is still such a high image. It was before Avex made all eurobeat, but now it is "underground" as you say.

And, Dave Rodgers is starting to sound more "Prog" with his Sun Fire stuff, especially with Futura. I'm not saying it's BAD, but... without Sandro Oliva manning the mixing board he doesn't seem to have the same appeal as he did on, say, SEB 110.
Did "Dance in My Town" and "Super Eurobeat" by Dave & Futura really click that well with Japanese listeners?

no, they are still here. just you must talk and know where. you must know the day. it is also expnsieve. I went to the America club DJ event, and it was cheap I thought!

The event fee for the Japanese club is about $40 in dollars to be allowed to be in.

So of coruse, if you have not good job or not good boyfriend or husband, so you can not go so every week. This is why para para in the streets is popular with young galsa because of the price... nothing!

I have been to 3 campus summit in the past. Also, Club Alife in Roppongi has some nice event. I attented the avex 200th SEB album christmas party at the Alife in 2009. It was great and drunk! drunk para para is frightneing!

Super Eurobeat is a genre that grows on you.

One thing about Super Eurobeat is not to take it so seriously. It is a genre that does not even take itself serious. Some peopel use it for racin, some for para para dancing.

I can't explain the feeling you get when driving a fast car and over taking someone on the road or pulling a sharp turn with Super Eurobeat blasting.

I can understand though that It is not for everyone though.

Lol "eurobeat" is not the same as super eurobeat son. Sure we tend to say eurobeat for short, but really super eurobeat is a different class of dance music then plain ol eurobeat. Let us just say that they do not play super eurobeat in armani exchange...

But I agree that plain old eurobeat is pretty gay.

Super eurobeat on the other hand directly evolved from Italy disco. Listen to some old Dave rockets stuff from the 80s and you will find it is a world away from de gay.

No fuck off. Italo disco is VERY Japan related. Italo was pretty only played in Japan, thus the reason why so many of the songs back then were about Tokyo or Japan. Pure eurobeat has nothing to do with Japan. SUPER EUROBEAT, now that is what we are talking about.

Most of the early super eurobeat albums in the early 90s was pretty much Italo. It evolved real quick into what we think of super eurobeat in the mid to late 90s.

Here is max coveri's Italo song "bye bye baby" that was in one of the early super eurobeat albums. (I think SEB 6 or 9).

Many of them are actually mac fags. If you just want to focus on making music or graphics, you can't really go wrong with a Mac. Dave Rodgers for example uses Mac OS and Logic Pro, as far as I know.
If you want to get into serious music production and have the money, getting a Mac is probably the way to go. Of course that won't help you with coming up with a melody and lyrics, and a good artist can do good music with any kind of software, but it sure helps to have something that's useable out of the box like GarageBand when you're just starting out.

That's what I said, don't misunderstand my post.
Once you have reached a certain level, anything will work for you and it's just a matter of preference.
But tools like GarageBand are nice for beginers because they are easy to use and come with tons of presets and loops but still allow you to customize stuff to a certain degree. You won't be crushed under a pile of settings and sliders before you can start doing anything.
Of all the different pieces of software I have used, Logic is still my favourite. I tried Cubase and Ableton but both didn't really work out for me. In the end, it's all about what works best for you personally.

>> No.6416938

Despite reading up on Eurobeat, listening closely to songs I like, looking up tutorials and experimenting for days, I still can't produce that typical Eurobeat sound. How do they even get that much energy and power into their songs? It's crazy.

>> No.6417360

>>6417243
funny thing. I found a website one time that offered several well known super eurobeat songs that were turned into "construction kits". Basically, it was a list of mp3s of all the audio channels that made a super eurobeat song.

So all the drums were in one audio file.

the synth in another.

the vocals isolated by itself in a different audio file.

etc.

After studying and reverse engineering a super eurobeat song in my music program, I learned quite a lot how to use the arrangement to get that eurobeat "sound".

basically, it is a whole bunch of little instruments adding up to sound like we know it. It is just harder to hear in the finish songs then hearing it broken down like I was able to. So basically what I was able to do was use the channels as a guide line and recreate my own drums line, my own version of bass and brass synth until I came up with the same number of channels and instruments that they did, and I after putting them together into a finished song, it did sound a lot like the structure and energy of a super eurobeat song.

though i noted that making eurobeat song and because of its speed at around 130-170 beats per minute, it can be tricky to control all those instruments and channels into a melody. I remember thinking at the time that it was like trying to walk 13 cats on a leash at the same time. This is when your skill and experience as a composer really comes into play and am afraid like that anon said above, that is something that not many can help you with.

I'm guessing avex just pushed Newfield a bit too hard on too many of his songs, so he tried this. Avex is known in the Eurobeat realm to occasionally be unreasonable with their song requests, in some cases requiring entire re-records and re-produces.

Go check out "Super Eurofreak Vol. 2". Besides some fuckawesome Eurobeat AND Hyper Techno, you'll see a Eurobeat song with the caption "7A didn't like it". Like, straight-up, part of the song title.

The songs for which there are kits on Juno are, in quite a few cases, retools or straight-up the original pieces of 'classic' Delta songs. A quick peek on JunoDownload will show you what's up.

Of course, for all I know Newfield and Avex could have made up since all this, and this is all something from which they're getting some income. I'unno.

To put it bluntly, lrn2mix.
Pick the, what, 3 most important parts of the mix (usually the SynthBrass, Drums/Perc & Bass) and bring those up, everything else down. I don't know how to mix or master so basically, SAVE YOUR COMPOSITION, then putz around with it until it sounds good. At risk of sounding painfully redundant, you want your bassy sounds to be bassy and your higher-pitched stuff to have a decent amount of his/mids. One surprising thing I've found is that Eurobeat kicks are unusually high-pitched. More of a TMP than a DMMM.

If you get a normal song and speed it up a bit, the bass will become slightly higher pitch. Interesting, though I think they do not straight up speed up their songs, I do think they must have expirmented with it early on, decided they liked the sound, and just decided that eurobeat bass needs to be a little higher.

What, you don't wanna write the next "BURNING LOVE CAR BABY FIRE DESIRE TONIGHT"?
...actually, if I recall right there have been a few actually 'deep' Eurobeat songs out there. "My Gasoline" was written by Matteo Rizzi about an oil crisis in Italy, not to mention "Frontal Impact" and "Spirit of the Night" are about the loss of a loved one in a car crash. Also I heard "New Horizon" might have had a meaning besides "ending generic relationship #5493082389" (http://avexnet.or.jp/eurobeat/diary/2010/11/02/ suggests that it was originally called "July 31"), but I'unno what that is.

Eurobeat started out as basically just Italo-disco. Listen to some of the early hits in the genre (Boom Boom Dollar, Upside Down, Give Me Up, etc...) and you'll hear that the difference between Italo and Eurobeat, at its inception, was zilch. Over time the Japan-marketed variety was sped up and added more distorted guitar (some say this is due to the influence of Hyper Techno), so the artists remained in their location but the style became a great deal more Japan-friendly.
tl;dr: Started there, just happened to stay there. That isn't stopping a few international faces from joining the fray though.

Regarding Nuage, if I remember right she did an interview or two where she said they met at a party and Giancarlo asked if she'd be interested in joining in.

Oh, and evidently Nuage is a Ranma 1/2 fan, if her Myspace is anything to take seriously. Girl's got taste.

Hey one anon here mentioned that a gyaru is head of the eurobeAT stuff over at avex, so does that mean "7A" is replaced?

>> No.6430761

>>6429483
No, 7A WAS a Gyaru, now she's in charge of SEB. I think she still occasionally does gyaru stuff on her Twitter though.

Who is 7a?

>> No.6430962

>>6430761
Well, I wad going to say, the guys over at eurobeat prime complain a lot about 7A. Though the posts are dated a few years ago, I was assuming that 7A was a recent change and was "in touch".

The one in charge of what goes in the super eurobeat albums over at avex.

Why does Japan love Hi-NRG music so much...

Last time I visted, half the stores were playing Hi-NRG. The other half was lame 90s.

threads going to 300+ posts, in MY /jp/?

Also, where is eurobeat hospitable on 4chan?

/o/ is to an extent, /mu/'s just full of butthurt faggots and their metal screaming garbage. How's /a/, too fast?

>> No.6436362

>>6436272
putting eurobeat on /a/, while generally positive, often just boils down to people typing eurobeat lyrics in caps lock.

although as a part time /mu/ lurker, I gotta say that aside from "hipster metal", they're pretty hostile to metal in reality. Instead, they're busy jerking off to their obscure pitchfork core shit. A eurobeat thread there would be pushed off the board pretty fast.

good to know that /jp/ is fine with eurobeat discussion

Let me remind you all that op made this thread on November 1st....and it is currently the 12th. Just 2 more days and this thread will have been active for 2 weeks!

I say make a new thread for the glory of Eurobeat.

carry on then cause i love eurobeat.

That's because Eurobeat Prime complains about fucking everything.

>>6436272
/a/ approves, only insofar as quoting lyrics here and there. No serious discussion, certainly nothing like this thread. Like, outside of forums devoted to it I haven't seen discussion like this for a while.
