Our god is an awesome god.

While other more popular gods are busy handing out eternal damnation, setting up elaborate rules for sacrificing bull entrails, burning bushes, raining fire and brimstone for teh lulz, and obsessing over foreskins and proper handling of semen outside of procreation, Kanako cooks. Truly we would have a lot less trouble in the world if more people would follow Kanakoism.

Then again there's always the issue of nuclear proliferation, but whatever, one problem at a time...

Probably because if she stood up, she would actually be really tall. Her canon portrait sort of suggests that.

With this picture and the previous, 10 heads tall means either her head is 3" shorter than the average head of 10", or she's 8' 4". In physiological terms that's bizarre, to put it lightly.

Not many people question that Suwako is technically the more powerful of the two, but neither do many people question that Suwako makes inferior croissants.

what's all this about kanako being super tall?

I could see the 8' 4" given her godhood could mean an Amazonian stature, but that's still really huge. She would have difficulty finding places to sleep, let alone a house she could stand in.

Fashion design would do improper proportions to emphasize the body of the model over the face. Yet this minor trend seems most driven by the proportion rule of head count being proportional to seriousness. Never thought of Kanako as more serious than other upper-echelon figures of Gensokyo...barring Yuyuko.

It does act as a wonderful filter for artists experienced in proportional variety. Many botch the additional height by not lengthening the arms properly or sweeping the additional height under the concealing hems of the dress, while those that know the ratios can nail it.

It's like designing a lightweight aircraft capable of toting heavy loads: solutions are either marvels of craft or creativity.

This is the first thing I thought of when seeing those proportion images.

Yuugi must be taller. Over 1.80m, IMHO.

Yuugi has been suggested to be anywhere between 1,63 to 2,10 metres tall.

With the others it's even fuzzier. Yukari is supposedly taller than Ran (although fandom would disagree), and Kanako would seem to be about the same height as Yukari.

My brain hurts trying to get around this despite being void of pain receptors
