And what is up with her design anyway? Beside the obvious difference in being the typical Mahou Shoujo, it's as if her colours are brighter and cleaner. She simply stands out from the game.

Knights are cool, but there are none of them here.

But the Japanese and their hard on for their precious katanas starts to become silly when they push so much of it into the same game, and all of them are worse than say, Baiken, who at least was a real Samrai.

The Japanese never had the time, the recources nor the necessary number of smiths to come up with proper armor and swords. And as they could make armour out of other materials than iron/steel, they never got to making or developing proper plate armor as they saved their scarce recources for doing spears and the like.
The Japanese's metallurgy knowledge for these types of things are thousands of years behind the rest of the world, and they had poor recources and for some reason they didn't want to trade neither superior recources nor knowledge with the outside world, being the isolationist bunch they have been.
But the one with the Katana or the Samurai outfit are always either outstanding, simply spectacular or otherwise some kind of special snowflake above others.

The samurai, and above that most of all, the western samurai archtype like Jin, but also other non-traditional samurais, are like the special weeaboo hero incarnate or something.
Yes I don't like them, Baiken was fine I guess, but I that silly stuff is just annoying.

And yes, magical loli girls riding ponies and shooting lasers and stuffed animals are fine, that at least isn't the typical "oh grorious nippon so great, master race better than rest of world together even by our self", that is just some basement dweller archtype nerd fetish, there is a difference.

In CT, he got his ass handed to him by Ragna. Then he spends most of CS beaten and battered, and recovers only to get his ass once again handed to him by a bot that Hakumen was pretty on-par with. Since he's weaker than Ragna and Hakumen, this also implies he's weaker than Hazama, Jubei, Rachel, and everyone else above or equal to those.

He's mid-high tier, imo. Yukianesa is nothing special, just another Nox.
