Never played any ML game before. Which one should I start with?

It does. Japanese locale is required, as well as mounting the iso with daemon tools - for whatever the fuck technical reason I forgot, other programs give bogus data with that iso.

That's most likely the reason, though I wouldn't mind them being similar because I love Meiya's. Anyway, if anyone here is going to get the Kotobukiya Takemikazuchis just go with the purple one unless he has an extreme phobia to that colour. The mechs themselves look pretty nice, by the way.

Pretty similar to gunpla kits if you've ever built one, there's a bunch of how-to-do websites. Koto kits have rougher plastic than Bandai ones though, but they usually have pre-painted details on some pieces.

Something tells me it's gonna be a bitch to detail the Takemi kits, but I'm looking forward to it.

Typical Evafag. Despite it being entertaining, it just recycled stuff from the 70s and 80s that most people who watched it never even heard about. And no, they didn't make it better than those older animes. They just had a good marketing machine that made use of the internet boom in the mid-90s to make it known, and it worked.

One on Mandarake? I like it, I just couldn't convince myself it was worth it. That and the cold climate version with 2 different heads are the last ones I'm missing. I guess because Alt has a lot in common with Eva in more ways than one.
The general setting and atmosphere is extremely similar, a lot of the characters are almost exact copies of those found in NGE, and even the mechs look a bit like Eva units.
Of course, Eva borrowed heavily from mecha tropes itself, but for many people Eva was either their first or at least their most memorable experience with the mecha genre, so of course similarities are going to be drawn from a game as generally unoriginal as Alternative.

Dammit Eva, worming its way into every mech discussion since it aired.
