I guess I can agree with that but this route probably took me the longest time to finish since I kept getting bored of all the cooking and talking. Shit got awesome whenever Kotomine appeared. TM needs to arrange the routes better, placing UBW before Heaven's Route was a pretty bad decision. Its safe to say that I played UBW just for Rin sex but it was still awesome.

Now now, Tsukihime was plenty good.
Though I wont deny that going from FSN to Tsukihime may feel like a downgrade, but I would still very much recommend it.

Then the dilemma of Shirou betraying his ideals to protect Sakura would be dampened.

Shirou had to make a life-altering choice about "what he wanted to protect". It wouldn't hold nearly as much meaning if we didn't know what his ideal meant to him, as UBW showed.

Hint: It was his entire life.

Heaven's feel is the true Fate route.

But seriously, going from UBW to HF was bad because it felt like a 180 for his character to sacrifice his ideals so readily for love.
That being said, I went from HF to Tsukihime then gagged at how everything was unpolished. Shit art (let's apply a gradient and filter to photos!), shit music (10 generic tracks looping!), shit art (going from Colosseum to Tsukihime is jarring in the amount of detail and geometry missing), and shit presentation (I felt like I was playing True Love).

I swear, the cooking scenes made up 30% of the route. The other 20% was Shirou angsting over Sakura, and another 30% was pointless exposition about THGW, which could've just been included in supplemental material. That being said, the final 20% of the route was awesome, including SParks Liner High.

I actually thought the way it was done was pretty bad.
It needed more, both for the portrayal of his relationship/feelings for Sakura and the heaviness and difficulty of his choice.

Personally I just thought this development felt really contrived, I could see the idea but the execution was lacking.

I'm sure it would've felt like an improvement to go from Tsukihime to FSN but since I'm going the other around, I don't care. It might serve as a comparison on how far TM has come. Actually, that is better applied when you play Tsukihime first but what the fuck, I guess I'll have to try enjoy it.

Different Shirous melded by different events.

HF Shirou got close to Sakura, a girl he's been with for a year. His ideal would compel him to kill her.

UBW Shirou had to clash against himself and see what lies at the end of his ideal.

If you have problems with Shirou falling in love too quickly, you really don't understand his character.

It's not love, it's the fact that he has clashed and been strangled by his ideal before being able to steel himself like Fate or UBW Shirous.

Furthermore, technically Sakura is innocent. The Shadow acts of its own will, she was merely being a gateway for the Shadow's existence. So he was forced into Archer's shoes at the very first action of "following his ideal": kill an innocent you know and love to save hundreds you've never met. Of course it put a lot of stress on him.

And you know what? He can go through with it. Look up Bad End 30.

HF Shirou is just a Shirou who turned it down.

The 'finish' of Tsukihime (art, music, etc.) are all worse than Fate/Stay Night, as to be expected, but the story is much better, in my opinion. If you're a graphicsfag who can't even watch old Bond movies without complaining about lack of sfx, then Tsukihime won't work for you. If you actually care about the plot, then Tsukihime will be fine.
