I wasn't talking to ZUN. I'm addressing the poster who implied that Aya is not bound to any physical law because she has/uses/is magic.

Call me crazy, but I assumed she was so damn fast because she was a crow tengu, a creature that is naturally very strong and swift, especially in flight, which is what everyone does in the games anyway. This is a point that is fantastical (unearthly creature+supernatural ability) without becoming nonsensical (magic makes her not bound to any physical law and therefore capable of speeds several times that of the speed of light, nevermind what doing so would actually result in).

ZUN has his reasons for not explaining shit.
1) Beer.
2) Fans will make shit up anyway.
3) Insufficient beer.
4) Doesn't care to think 'em up.

Aya, Sakuya, Kamochi, Youmu, etc. cannot go that fast as G-force from acceleration will smash their bodies into a pulp. And if that doesn't work, the air resistance will incinerate them way before they reach 3*10^8 m/s.

Reisen, however, can manipulate her her own body into electromagnetic waves and travel at the speed of light with ease.
