I must have just sucked/been unlucky then, he never got stuck when I played him, I was dodging his attacks the whole time while using ranged attacks, it took me like tent times to finally beat him.

Stairs, dragon ribs and the pillars will all have him stuck for the most part.

Easiest way for any character to beat him is to go buy a bunch of magic arrows from graverobber blige in 4-2 and use the theifs ring to walk around flamelurker and up the stairs he'll charge you and get stuck in the rubble, every 10 shots or so he'll unstick himself, dodge rinse and repeat.
