Its not Western as much as modern pop-art/graphics-designer type style. All the "hip" artists and designers use something similar nowdays. Its nieve to think it does not have a huge influence from anime/manga type drawing, moreso than western comics. Its just very stylized, to the point where like anime, it is sterotypical and ubiquitous.
