And yes, both Marisas look quite lovely; I'm very happy with the kotobukiya Marisa. She's placed at a kinda weird angle, but even that gets kinda charming after a while. The coloring on Yohshi's looks kinda dull in the new promotion pictures, but she still looks really nice. I love the long curly hair, it's just adorable and awesome at the same time.

My favorite Touhou statues are still Griffon's even if they have a severe case of same face.
Their Flandre is still my dream figure and Yuyuko and Keine are both so beautiful, I might get either one!

I love Yohshi's Marisa's pose, it just looks so in-character. Faithful adaptions make up for minor faults, I think..

My friend has Remilia and Flandre, and admittedly Flandre looks pretty good. My main problem with Griffon is their poses. They're quite boring, I prefer more action.

I agree that Keine is stunning though. I might get her... I also like Komachi. And I'm really, really looking forward to their Yuuka, even though it feels like I shouldn't. I'm not even a especially big fan of Yuuka's but the idea of a Yuuka PVC just gets my heart pumping.

Faithful adaptations yes, but I also like seeing unique things in my figurines, things that make them stand out. Both Marisas have it, and I know I shouldn't be complaining about owning both even if it's gonna be a bit awkward~

Finally got her today. I'm pleased, and a little surprised to find that she has detailed pantsu and requires no assembly aside from putting the stand in her foot, which is a surprised considering it's a GSC figure.

So I just got an e-mail from Amiami saying that this has been cancelled by the manufacturer. Did anyone else pre-order this elsewhere and get a similar message? I've never had this happen with a figure before. I thought Sora no Woto was fairly popular, it seems odd that they would just cancel it out of nowhere.

I've had a few instances where I've gotten my knickers in a bunch because the Japan Post tracking only listed "Dispatch from outward office of exchange" for over a week, only to discover when I plugged the number into Canada Post's site that it was almost literally on my doorstep.

While they do try their best, I imagine they can't track everything once it gets on a ship heading out of the country.

40 bucks for EMS hurt a bit though vs 15 bucks for the unregistered SAL. I took the EMS route since the order was over 200 dollars and hopefully if something happens to it I will be covered.

Looks like only the preorders got in on this one. Nice sculpt by Alphamax as always although I've yet to own something by them. I can't help but worry that the finished product doesn't quite live up to the pics. Does anyone own anything by them?

You'd hope so, wouldn't you? I've been disappointed before, though. It seems like price isn't really any indication of quality, man. Good Smile stuff is super affordable yet all of their figures are pretty much perfect. Griffon is about the same price range but... not so much... I've also noticed a lot of companies running pictures of the garage kits the PVCs are based on and then the figures end up looking Chinese as fuck when they get released.

Which ones have you purchased that didn't turn out that great? And do you have any examples of which PVC releases used their garage kits for their sample pics? Its the first time I've ever heard of anyone doing that.

Yamato's done it. I don't buy their stuff anymore except for the Macross line they do. Griffon and Kotobukiya are also famous for having some seriously dreamy prototype pics and then their releases looking like crap afterwards. Kotobukiya is a fucking scary company. Half of their stuff looks great and half of it is horrible... and you can never tell what's going to be what... and they have a habit of getting the licenses for characters first so you'll feel inclined to buy 'em... only to get a piece of poop that you wish you hadn't spent money on.
