6206539 No.6206539 [Reply] [Original]

Wait, this doesn't seem fair.

If Alexander gets to summon his army of Heroic Spirits, why doesn't KING ARTHUR of all people have a Noble Phantasm that represents the Knights of the Round Table?

The elite knights of Arthur's court are closer to King Arthur's legend than whatever the hell Invisible Air is supposed to represent.

Also didn't King Arthur have the spear, Rhongowennan, and the shield, Prydwen? I can understand her being Saber since Excalibur is more important and leaving the shield behind since it's two-handed, but still.

Is Saber under-equipped since she's not a full Heroic Spirit?

>> No.6206547

Maybe it depends on what class she's summoned as?

>> No.6206552

Almost all of her knights betrayed her and abandoned her, remember?

>> No.6206564

>>6206539
Aren't the knight betraying him? My knowledge in Arthurian lore is pretty low but this is what the vn seems to imply.

Maybe and maybe. Did he lost them before dying?
If all fail: Blame lolnasu.

>> No.6206568

Why does that bother you and not the fact that it's a freaking girl? If anything you should get pissed over that.

>> No.6206575

>>6206568
That didn't bother me at all, to be honest. Like Kenshin, there were theories about the girl things. Plus it was believable to me in presentation in this canon, and that's what matters.

Nero, on the other hand...

>> No.6206580

To be fair, she's already overpowered as it is.

And who says excalibur was a two handed sword? Sure, the sheath made arthur invincible but it doesn't mean he was stupid enough NOT to carry a shield.

Two-handed feat doesn't work with a shield, unless it's a small, arm-strapped buckler.

Fate/Zero shows that she cannot wield it properly with damage to her left hand.

If Arthur were a man in F/SN, that would make the sex scenes pretty awkward, wouldn't it?

On the other hand, Nasu could have easily made Saber into Joan of Arc. That's what I thought she was in the first place.

No, I mean, who says the SWORD was 2 handed. And besides, it could have been a bastard sword.

Right, but I was talking about the "real" (if it could be said like that) excalibur.

>If Alexander gets to summon his army of Heroic Spirits, why doesn't KING ARTHUR of all people have a Noble Phantasm that represents the Knights of the Round Table?
Short meta theory: Nitro+ and Zero came after, I doubt Nasu thought of something of that scale for Fate
Long in-game theory: The concept underlying the Round Table is that every knight is equal, even the king: they respect and value each other. Meanwhile, the whole point of Ionian Hetairoi is that the whole macedonian army swore an eternal oath to Iskandar. He's the pillar that supports and unifies everyone. Fate/Zero goes at great lengths to show how each of the three kings in there has a pretty different way of ruling: Iskandar's is really close ties with his armies and his soldiers and loyalty; Arturia's is sacrificing her feelings for the people and what must be done. Arturia never had close friends amongst the knights, except maybe Lancelot (who knew she was a girl), Iskandar had the whole fucklot of them binded to him until the end of time.

Jeheanne d'Arc should be a Rider class, as her martial prowess was sorely limited, not enough to be a Saber class.

I worked up her class, stats, and NPs a long time ago. They're awesome.

Not "two-handed sword" feat, but "two-handed fighting," using two hands with a weapon for added power/stability instead of just one hand, which is what she does.

I'm not cuestioning the canon, I'm questioning it's similarity to the original weapon it was based of.

Also, why was Nero a girl again?

Then why not make her Lucius Artorius Castus, a figure who King Arther was based on, who even has "Artorius" as his middle name? It would explain all the similarities, and he's even Roman so they wouldn't have to change their Nero setting stuff much.

The knights had no kinship with Arthur, merely obedience to an inhuman, perfect king. Alexander and his army were essentially one heart, chasing their simple wish to the world's end.

>Also didn't King Arthur have the spear, Rhongowennan, and the shield, Prydwen?

Yes, but Saber Arthur only possesses Excalibur since she was a living human and only had Excalibur with her at the time she made her contract. She is summoned from that point of time and returned to it whenever she fails to obtain the Grail, which is also why she has vivid memory of the Grail Wars.

A "complete" Arthur summoned from the Throne of Heroes would possibly have Rhongowennan, Prydwen, Caliburn, Avalon, Carnwennan, Gwenn etc. provided those items racked up enough mystery to qualify as NPs.

>> No.6207086

>>6206858
This pretty much covers it.
But regardless, a complete Arthur would be stupid overpowered, even if the other things aren't qualified as NPs if only because she would have Avalon, Caliburn and Excalibur.
