Got completely lost and ended up wasting the day.

I did get to meet Keine though, so it wasn't all bad.

It was so fucking intense watching the Hisoutensoku final. A /jp/er got second place ;_;

To be honest I just synergized the whole time. Best Touhou OpenWorld yet.

Fuck yeah OpenWorld. Shit was pretty cash.

There were quite a lot of Youkai there. Not really surprising, since they pride themselves in top-tier danmaku. Given their attire, I'm pretty sure half the purpose of OpenWorld these days is showing off their costumes.

There were some pretty impressive danmaku demonstrations as well. They had a magical technique to "neuter" danmaku so it doesn't even produce the usual stinging sensation on impact, so the audience could stand smack in the middle of a massive spell card and enjoy the view. Yukari even made a special guest appearance -- though when the audience called for an encore, she dived into a gap and threw Ran at the audience instead. Hearty laughs were had.

Unsurprisingly, it's a bad idea to try to mob a famous Youkai -- there was quite a commotion when a bunch of people were trying to get an autograph. It didn't end very well; security had to kick a few people out. The Youkai ended up escaping via air.

If there was anything there that really surprised me, it was probably the fact that Mokou took part in the Eientei booth. I didn't see that one coming.

The announcement of the next 5 year plan from Kanako was pretty interesting. She's set some pretty ridiculous targets for power output though -- an increase from 2GW to 5GW. That'll be pretty hard to reach -- let alone the question of what they'll do with it. My guess is she has some really power-intensive operations she'd like to run; maybe refining?

There was a pretty big press contingent there. Even Gensokyo seems to have adopted the "talk about news by taking interviews with random audience members" approach.
