Being clumsy is one of her selling points though. Although to be fair the whole no sense of direction thing is a problem with her program and there's nothing to she can do to patch it. Ar Tonelico has suffered damage as a result of Mir too but Shurelia still manages. Frelia's tower was in a state of collapse and the citizens were at war with each other too. Tilia's tower I'm not sure about since I haven't played AT3 but I know they're pretty anal about people who aren't B-types which isn't exactly a friendly attitude towards others..

I guess my point is that in both cases (Sol Marta and Harvestasya) there's something seriously wrong with the Towers that their admins can't really do anything about. Also remember that Shurelia was pretty much at Mir's mercy until she enlisted Tastiella's help.

The problem with Tilia's tower was that her father figure, Kurogane, committed suicide in front of her as she was becoming the Tower, which totally fucked up the process. Now it's incomplete and underpowered.

I'm fine, I guess. I'm no longer in any pain from the initial surgery but due to the blood clot some stitches had to be taken out early and because of this I'm bleeding quite a bit. Only difference was this morning I literally stood up to go to the toilet and was welcomed with a nice sight of blood just flowing down my legs with no pain or anything, kind of freaky really. Doctor/Surgeon said it's fine, removed my last few stitches, gave it a dressing and sent me back home again. I'm playing AT2 and enjoying it a lot but there's something bothering me. I know I'm supposed to be able to use the crazy little girls I beat up as "Girl's Power" or whatever. I've equipped the first I.P.D. girl you help and it's quite useful however I'm not sure how do I get more reyvateils to fangirl over Cloche. I do whatever requeriment I need for each girl but can't find where the hell they are, even after looking in the tutorial which tells you where the fanclubs are.

Go to that area and you'll get the IPD into the Fan Club for Replekia, assuming you've met the conditions to recruit them .

Hello. I might be starting Ar Tonelico 1 soon and I wanted to ask the experts something.
I hear there are pretty much two heroine routes, is the choice straightforward or do I need to pay attention to particular things? I'm playing this to relax, and hate when choices are really subtle so that you must use a walkthrough to get the route you want.
BAsically, I'd like to play it "raw" without guides. Is it feasible?

There's not much to be spoiled about and the character paths are extremely obvious choices. The first choice will affect what you do in phase 2 and the second choice will choose who you decide to stay with although the endings are pretty much the same so don't worry about it too much.

I'm tempted to get Atelier Rorona's special edition purely because I love the music and art and owning the bonuses would be nice. However I'm wary about Gust games in general.

Atelier Iris was ok but the skipping nonsense and lack of a focus on item creation was annoying.
I figured Ar Tonelico would have fixed that, and it didn't.
I skipped AI2 and 3 and eventually tried AT2 hoping they fixed some of their issues from previous games and found they were not only just as bad but infact worse with the critical bug on that end game boss. Didn't really find the DS Gust games very good either although I did enjoy the larger focus on alchemy.

Clearly the PS3 game is using a new engine, one that looks quite nice but I'm wary of Gust just doing the same half-assed job with a prettier spit shine, so I ask is it worth it? Just watched the official trailer, most of the scenes besides the girl running on a bridge looked like it was running at 20fps

I can't speak for Rorona but you can tell that AT3 is one of their first 3D games in that it's still lacking in certain areas but gameplay wise it seemed perfectly fine to me. Rorona, as far as I know, was very popular in Japan and focuses on alchemy so it should meet your expectations. I've heard of no issues regarding frame rate and such in any of the newer games. Also AT1 and AT2 ran fine for me and the Raki bug was fixed in my EU version so I guess you've just had some bad luck.

Yeah, NTSC Collector's edition. Beat Raki in 3 turns or crash woo. Soundtrack was worth it.

The skipping/slowdown thing is pretty noticable in towns and dungeons and even occurs in combat (although more often in AI1 than AT1 or 2 thankfully) Happened on 3 different PS2s so I can't really say it was just my own. And I usually see it in videos, although recorders usually claim not to have noticed.

Guess I just need to go through japanese gameplay videos and see if I notice anything.

The odd thing here is that the towns and dungeons are some of the most easiest parts of the game to run. I can understand the world map slowing down since it's using 3D but everywhere else should be fine. I honestly can't remember any slowdown but then again the last time I played my PS2 versions was when it was initially released in Europe so my memory might be a little foggy since I was playing AT1/AT2 on the PC with zero slowdown quite recently. The Raki thing sucks for NTSC users though although she drops pretty fast anyway. You could always rent the game before you buy although I'm not sure if the OST/Artbook will still be available from the NIS website after the initial release.

Yeah it's not a slowdown as in chugging or anything. It's an odd skipping in frame rate. Imagine a video slowing down for a second then speeding up to catch up to where it should be.

I don't think that would work considering that Mir hates all humans and there's no real 'special' one, at least until after the end of AT1. Shurelia was also pretty much a loner so I don't think her having someone beside her would work either otherwise it'd ruin their dialogue in AT1/AT2. There's no real bugs in AT2 to speak of other than the Raki bug which is fixed in the PAL version of the game or automatically included with the undub version if you downloaded it. The re-translation project is still moving along at a snails pace so I doubt it'll be done any time soon.

I don't think even the developers like Luca that much. Example: I was thinking about the end of AT2 yesterday while doing laundry and realized that (moderate spoiler for AT3 in here) once Luca returns the D-Cellophane to Frelia at the end as she promises, she's going to be no different from any other run of the mill Third Gen: she'll be Holy Maiden in name only, with no special power.

Cloche, on the other hand, still has a special and significant position as the Admin of the Infel Phira and the leader of the IPDs, even with it now in Metafalica mode--Cocona wouldn't have been able to use METHOD_HYMMELI in AT3 without Cloche's approval, for example. And Mir, of course is Mir and awesome just because of that. So compared to the other two, Luca comes off as more than a little lacking in the end.

Honestly I think the problem is the roles they gave the three heroines. You have the normal girl, the holy maiden, and the ex-villain. I think they were afraid Luca would come off as a mary sue if she had something special going for her.

It would've been better if Cloche was the third reyvateil and there was someone else instead of Mir, but as it is the balance between the heroines is way off.
