So I restarted after getting a good grasp of how things work and I'm doing three times better than my first run and I'm about to conquer Nightmare eyes.

Is it worth it actually going through the trouble to get Tennouji Mio? I'm thinking of just ignoring Transylvania and going after all the independants aside from Shin juku until turn 34. I've almost got enough for a vacation and I'm gaining about 700bp each income phase so 1000 won't set me back too far which makes it even more tempting to just ignore nightmare eyes until turn 34.

NPI won't declare war until turn 43 so the only war I'll have while ignoring Nightmare Eyes is the independents, and Touma alone is enough to fend off a couple turns of attacks as I gave him the +100hp button.

There is literally zero threat from Nightmare Eyes for multiple turns if I just station Touma and Ginjou there, as both can one shot all of their units and never need to be pulled out for health.

You can't H Senna until national phase, if you defeat Ren you enter Kunagi route, if you defeat Sanzou you enter Senna route, you can't defeat both.

Not sure about Sae.

Rest I'm going by wiki: To invade Sangoku you need to trigger a event in Iga called "Human Cannon", which you can get if you invade Sangoku once and Sae is in your party.

The route split is Sanzou. If you defeat him you enter Senna route, if you ignore him you enter Kunagi route.

If you want to go Kunagi route then reload a earlier save and defeat Ren instead of Sanzou. Senna will disappear though as you can't have them both past district phase, just to let you know.

Nah, Kunagi is more useful half the time. Senna's ability to heal after every battle definitely has its advantages, but she will always, ALWAYS, get hit. She literally has no evade. Kunagi's ability to dodge nearly everything comes in much more useful. But it's all just personal opinion.

She's good for complementing Kunagi. High damage medium range which can kill pretty much most short ranges in one hit. She really shines after you clear her, and give her items with HP boost.

Normally I go with Kinako/Kunagi pair or Burai/Senna pair to not over specialising my group.

I would say that Burai tropes her in about every field.
He has way more HP, way more evade (Burai has good evade, Kinako has among the worst).
And while Kinako has more attack, Burai still has decent attack, and he has about twice the amount of stamina Kinako has.
And then there is the thing where Burai's perfect evade skill is far more useful than Kinako's perfect hit.

That would net him around 3 attacks rather than 6 or 7.
It would also effectively double his downtime as he would have to regain more stamina per attack, yet to gain fewer.

But Burai is still great because he is a well rounded character that is slightly above average in all stats, and he has good stamina.

And what's sucky about Heita? There is random factor that plays a huge part in how in stats, but Heita starts out good, and without bad luck he can keep those proportions and progress great.
He also has 8 stamina which is most certainly increadible. and because he has character checks, unlike Rouga and Gou, he can have 9 stamina if you clear him and continues on another playthrough

Which is better at tanking between Sanzo and Kei?

I've only used Kei before and she's pretty fucking awesome, She could tank 6 holy flame knights by herself while a few of the other characters in my team used that turn to recharge health and stamina to replace her the next turn.

Burai's problem is his relatively low damage. Yeah, he dodges more, but it takes him twice as long to kill anything and if you're using his skill, four times as much stamina. But what is wrong with Saki? I know she is one of Erika's groonies, but she is far from being cast off just because of that.
Other than lower evade, and a slight set back in stamina (Saki still has decent stamina), she starts out better than Saito in all fields. And unlike Saito, who is recruited in the national chapter, Saki and the gang is recruited in the very beginning, and frankly, if you just use her throughout those two chapters she should be more than twice as good as Saito at the time of the national chapter.

Yes, it's a 1st playthrough. My one was horrible and I restarted, so, technically, it's a 2nd. But, 1st playthrough so far as the game is concerned.

As for stars, I only have 3 cleared. I still haven't even gotten him to Super Heita yet. I'm only at turn 65 as well. I'm still not in combat with the Flaming Faggots (though, it IS just 1 turn away).

But, I'm sure I've gotten pretty lucky with him too. However, I do still think you should give him another try.

And frankly, late game Hit doesn't matter, because everyone who have leveled enough will score Hit stats great enough not to miss against anyone except certain rare/odd units, and then there's Shorko who once again makes Hit obsolete anyway.

Either way, Erika isn't bad, she is on par with Kendo if one ignore's Kendo's atk x1.5 skill.
But Erika grants more units overall and more stamina, a hit and evade boost.
And her higher evade/counter plus Saki's and her own skill makes her a really reliable unit.
And frankly, Kyuudo isn't that great and is comparable to the groonies.

And while Shizuri is great, Comet is still decent, and it's still 3 characters vs 4, and stamina is an issue as well.

But I really would say that it's balanced.
The Kendo "route" has stronger solo units
The Erika "route" has stronger team units

But for an example, if I were to wage war on all nations at once, I would prefer Erika's route because they make everyone into more capable units, net more stamina and regains it faster (because of they are to begin with) etc etc
Otherwise Kendo's route is "stronger".

But I would still call it balanced.

I've only been through the game once, so I'm not sure, but you have to station Rouga with the rest of your attacking troops so that he stops Dark Rouga if he tells your units to fall back in that region. (be prepared to fight, though)
